    Major Computer Problem ><

I wake up this morning to my computer turned off, and when I turn it on, the boot screen (BIOS boot screen, checking hard drives, etc etc) is fine. But when it tries to go to the Windows XP boot screen (Windows XP logo with loading bar), the screen doesnt load anything. I am sure this isn't a monitor problem, RAM problem, or Video Card problem. Here is what I have tried:

    - Changed memory sticks in and out, switched them around different slots, etc. Fail.
    - Switched video cards with my brother's brand new one. Fail.
    - Tried multiple monitors to see if it was a monitor problem. Fail, they were having the same problem on all monitors.
    - Tried booting up in safe mode, but everytime I try hitting the F8 key (this is my boot up option key), it doesn't do anything, and it goes to the black screen.
    - Tried reinstalling Windows XP, by putting the CD in, and pressing any key when it says for me to. It then goes on to the "Detecting hardware configuration screen", then goes into black screen, and freezes onto the black screen after that. It doesn't even load the Windows installation blue screen.
-Went to a computer repair specialist, and the same problem occured at his place.

I need help desperately, I can't really buy a new computer right now, and I'll go crazy if I go without one for weeks. : / I'm a loser. Help!

Have you recently done anything which changes the boot.ini file? Like tried to put a custom picture at start up or anything?

Take the hard drive to a friend's, back up any vital data from the HDD, wipe it at his, then put it back in your machine and reinstall windows? Seems like the easiest thing to do without waiting for a specific solution.

Sounds like the hard drive to me. I had a similiar problem where the windows would load and then restart over and over in a nonstop loop. i had to replace the hard drive, hopefully you can evade such a pain in the ass.

This happened to me 3 days ago. What I did was changed bios to boot from CD. Boot WindowsXP home edition up. Repair windows. From Dos I typed Chkdsk. It found 1 error, then I typed Fixboot. Then Chkdsk again to make sure everything was good. This solved my problem without having to reformat.

I can't even get the Windows XP CD to load after the Inspecting Hardware Configuration part.

try resetting your CMOS on your motherboard.

I had a problem like yours where my computer would blackscreen after windowsXP logo screen. I also had problems when the screen would go crazy and start displaying random pixelatted blocks everywhere. I resetted the CMOS and it started working again ok. But now I'm having trouble remote connecting to that computer again so I might have not fixed the problem entirely (won't know until I get back to school later to check on it).

As for resetting your CMOS, it involves taking out the battery on your motherboard, then moving the jumpers on your CMOS pins (should be located close to the battery and are marked "CMOS") to the other configuration for 30 seconds. Then resetting it back to original pin configuration and putting the battery back in. It sounds a little confusing so you might want to look up a more descriptive guide online if you want to try this route out.
