DeadLegend provided this accurate summation for this thread:
if you're not into knowing for the sake of knowing, this thread isn't for you
Latent effect of the Gorget:
...parade gorget only calculates off of base HP + body/head/hands/legs/boots HP sources. Not rings or other accessories. And is 85%.
Aurik devised that statement, which jived with some rather extensive testing by DeadLegend and Merryck.

So, um... what do I say about this... can't give enough accolades or cheers to this crafter for delivering the drink, the answer to the riddle that has plagued us for so long... so... yeah:
Krandor the far from Penultimate and Eltia the almost but not quite Supreme provided this, the real, no shit, working recipe:
Water Crystal
-Frost Turnip
-Wild Onion
-Gysahl Greens
-Latheine Cabbage
-San d'Orian Carrot
-Watermelon
-Distilled Water (don't need moval water)
-Elshimo Newt
Krandor and Eltia had this to say about the credit for the working recipe:
Technically we made it on Bokchoi's toon, even though he hasn't played FFXI for months. Eltia suggested it was Elshimo Newt, we were just the first person to synth it and post about it I think. I don't really mind too much if you throw my name somewhere but putting it all in bold and calling me the Penultimate is a bit much.
Anyone who knows me on Asura knows my ego doesn't need to get any bigger. Actually let's thanks ffxiah and Delsol on Valefor too. lol.
Goblin Wolfman pops at:
I-9
I-11
G-13
Appears our Gorget is a 25-30% drop.
Go forth my children and deliver the gorget from the evil grubby paws of the bastard Goblin.
Below are the remants of many hours we all spent in fruitless discourse over this bastard item, leaving them up as a testament to fortitude and sheer hardheaded obstinancy.
Yes this is "A Wall of Text", but to be eligible to post on the following topic, you must read the entirety of this post. If you do not, and post something already mentioned below, prepare to be heavily flamed, and/or banned. I don't speak for BG, but ignorant, oblivious fools are starting to irritate the researchers here, and I wouldn't be suprised if a mod might be one of our researchers.
Assume this is your syllabus and you must read it before attending class, or you receive a failing grade.
This is not meant as some draconian measure to remove fruitful discourse and humor from the thread. It's simply meant as a message to peruse before trotting in with information that has been specifically weighed, measured and found wanting in March. You trot in with old information, you will end up looking like an utter, incompetent ass. Theories and speculation are fine, and endurable, brainstorm please. Just be willing to contribute useful ideas to the discussion and not shit dead on page 2.
To wit, knowledge specifically tested, and either discarded, or currently being researched:
1. Divisortheory the brave, specifically tested Cursed Beverage and Amrita, and drinking the Amrita. It does not work.
2. There is insufficient NPC dialogue to support a "Fomor Hate" type methodology.
3. **EDIT11** Bottle of Goblin drink - This Goblin beverage is a mix of various strained vegetables. Picture is of a glass bottle, with a green fluid inside. The Goblin Drink temporary item cannot be desynthed. And yes we know it's available in the hostel.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...oblinDrink.jpg
Stealing your photobucket divisortheory, don't kill me.
Noting the flags in POLutilities, the drink doesn't stack but it acts as a food item, not a drink. Most food items which aren't stackable can be signed but the Goblin Drink doesn't carry an "inscribable" flag. I'm not sure if this means it must be obtained from an ??? somewhere or if it just simply isn't signable.
4. **EDIT4** Recipes such as the notorious Tuna Head are not given by the Culinarian's Guild NPCs. Cooks and Alchemists have spammed the NPCs for over a year now, the Goblin Drink is not given out by them.
5. **EDIT12** This infamous recipe is delved from several JP sites. While it might be a useful basis to attempt further research, it does NOT work:
1x dark crystal
1x windurstian tealeaves
2x gysahl greens
1x fingernail sack
1x honey
1x crawler egg
1x distilled water
The above is often found at:
http://jbbs.livedoor.jp/game/6954/st...141710059.html
Yes we have tried Movalopolis Water as well.
If you have any ideas concerning possible permutations to the above recipe, test them yourself, or read the original thread in its entirety. Kaylia and Khamsin conducted/are conducting some rather expansive research concerning it, I have my chef working on it. Khamsin is currently running an interesting research trend focusing on vegetables.
6. Fresh Blood and Moblin Hotrok, along with similiar quest specific items added in the July 2005 update are generally deemed unlikely to be used in a recipe, yes they have been tried. If you wish to continue research with those by all means, test them yourself. No armchair researching concerning those.
7. **EDIT9** Casting Water, having Water cast on you, casting Enwater on yourself doesn't work. Stupid idea, but yeah, I tried it. Grim tried Aquaveil. Yup, didn't work either.
8. Drinking Moval/Distilled/Melon/Yag Drink while attempting to trade XYZ. Tried this, no message change.
9. There seems to be insufficient clues to point towards having a drink/JA/food active while attempting to pop. This line of research is not completely dead, just hard to quantify.

11. **EDIT9** Fall, Ingram and Feon are the people associated with this item/seen with it on Ifrit Server, and Ifrit only. Abuse them if you see them, /blist only holds 200 people. Here is a transcript from a conversation Tilo held with Ingram, and thus the Goblin Drink research began:
Posted: Tue May 16, 2006 9:29 pm
Tilo:
Road block at the moment. According to this person, his friend supposedly works at SE and that is why he knows the reciepe. He gave me the name, which I will continiously look for over the next few days. I've tried to hide all names to protect his identity .. at least until the secret is solved.
Tilo >> can i ask you a question?
Ingram >> ok?
Tilo >> i know where to pop, but what pop item is used to pop NM for gorget?
Ingram >> my friend let me get the Gorget
Tilo >> ok, what did he pop the Notorious Monster with?
Ingram >> so i dont know how to get it >.>
Tilo >> who is your friend?
Ingram >> I just waited at entrance
Ingram >> Oldton Movalopols
Ingram >> I think its Goblin drink
Ingram >> but not sure
Tilo >> who is your friend? I would like to task him about it
Tilo >> please tell me
Ingram >> ok let me ask him first >.>
Tilo >> please ^^ i sorry for bugging you, but it is very important
Ingram >> Understood>.>
Tilo >> can you please give me any info?
Conversation continued on another screen:
Tilo >> please tell me! I would like to get one for my brother. ;_;
Tilo >> even if you tell me your friends name
Tilo >> come on.. why so quiet now? o_o
Ingram >> oh sorry
Tilo >> its ok ^^
Ingram >> i over look your tell
Tilo >> its np, but pleeaassee give me some information
Ingram >> if u dont tell him i tell u his name
Tilo >> what do you mean? i wont be rude
Ingram >> i will tell u now XD
Tilo >> Thank you.!
Ingram >> dont tell him that i tell u his name plz
Ingram >> its Fall
Tilo >> do you think he will be online Today?

Crafter's name is Fall. That PLD is named Ingram. Good luck to anyone trying to get info from them.

12. **EDIT5** Trading Items on a new/full moon, if I see this suggestion anymore I may go crazy. Other POP NMs don't have ??? up if the time/day/moon phase isn't right, re: Black/White Coney.
WRT to Agas, Jayd wrote:
First, you don't trade anything to this ??? to spawn Agas.
Second, you are looking for a 'Moon drop' and are told it is in the Tree.
Third, it is possible to get the message 'You can see the sky from here' from that ???. The ??? is up all the time, but there are ample clues that it requires some type of moon phase, or something to do with the moon. There are no such clues for Goblin Wolfman.
13. **EDIT4** http://ffxi.somepage.com/questdb/544 Has been tried, and is not totally ruled out, but so far all they have been giving out is recipes involving ToAU.
These above are theories that have been tried. Expand on them at will, but do not armchair research these, and expect to be feted.
14. **EDIT7** Completed the final quest in the series for "Better the Demon You Know" from Oldton Movalpolos, received Goblin Grenade, but no further clues. That's 1/3rd of the quests revolving around Movalpolos completed. Not expecting much from "A Generous General", but at the stage of checking the Iron Box with my Goblin Coif. I'm hopeful that "Return to the Depths" and Ravorara might provide useful hints, waiting for a few mates to finish up the pre-reqs for that stupid BC 40.
