My ingame clock is slower then everyone elses and I don't know how to get it back to normal. I tried updating my computers clock but that didn't do it. Anyone ever had this problem before or know what to do?

my ingame clock has always been exactly 2 minutes and 3 seconds faster than my pc's clock. there's no way to fix it other than to reformat and hope your pc isn't overclocking anymore.
Must be nice with longer lightning days :D.
Quit living in the past Kuno!
Ok how about any real answers.
that's server side. those items have a set period of IRL time to activate and deactivate. this can be proven if you use nin af feet, the speed always ends at 6:05 and starts at 18:05, which is the beginning of a minute in IRL time.Originally Posted by epigram

Have you tried changing your system clock to adjust to a time server? If you are already doing this, have you tried to not adjust your system time to a time server and manually adjust it.
Sorry, but "reformat" as a solution died with windows 98.
I'm sure someone out there has a real solution.
Yeah I'd like some sort of non-reformat answer.
My /clock is 1hr behind it's basicaly CST when im on EST..
When you updated the clock, did you update it in Windows?
Or did you go and change it in your BIOS?
Also, do you have anything running that tries to keep your clock set to clock on the internet? I know some versions of XP have a feature that allows you to set it to automatically adjust. This may be a source of the problem (be it that it's off, or errors if it's on).

I updated it in windows. I dont know how to update the BIOS time. And yes I have it set on "adjust to internet time" but I've had that set for ages and never caused any problems. Should I take it off?Originally Posted by Genosync
Well my in game clock has always been like 2-4min ahead of my system clock and everyone's clock in game as well. Plus I also had a harddrive failure this week. Formatting the brand new hard drive for windows didn't fix it.
reboot your pc
fixed
from my understanding the FFXI /clock command gets the Minutes and Seconds directly from the Server, and the Hour is determined based on your regional settings in windows.
Of course, I have no proof and could be completely wrong. But I know that if I set my windows clock to a bogus time (like, 20 minutes off) the /clock time doesn't change with it.
It's probably one of the many FFXI Client/Server bugs that will never be fixed.
You're all wrong, its due to JP-US latency. That's why you can't claim fafhogg, because the JP see it 2.5 minutes sooner.
I fixed it. Thanks to those that helped, and to those that didn't youre gay. Locked.
