    NM/HNM magic resistance

    Any first-hand info yet regarding resistance issues with damaging magics?

    Someone needs to find a low level Pop NM [Mycophile comes to mind] and hit it with nothing but Stone 1. And report us damage after each nuke. I would do it myself but I'm stuck at the office, and can't play in any of the raindeer games until I get home.

    Just killed Faf with 2 BLMs and many mages (MB nukes only) and no resists through the fight.

    Killed Fafnir, nerf is almost completely unnoticable, then again we did only have 3-4 blm the whole time. However, from beginning to end, we noticed almost no change in damage on MB and on regular nukes. Safe to say, black mages still have their place in the hnm alliance. (from this one experience)

    Yeah, but I was thinking in more practical aplications, such as HNM's which should by now be up or already taken down.

    I observed a Behemoth fight in which Thunder IV's were still breaking 1,000 at the end. Also I saw a Burst II do 1387 worth of dmg. The animation on it is very cool.

    Sounds more and more like this "nerf" was meant for the manaburning RMTers, or anyone who just threw dozens of BLMs at anything.

    We did observe a little resistance on Fafnir (3 BLM and 1 MNK we had Chi Blast to test). Following 3 MB'd Thunder IVs that looked pretty normal, my next Thunder IV did 979, instead of the normal 1100~ However, by the time my recast was back up again, it was normal again. So perhaps a 10% cut for like 30 seconds (?) after a wave of about 5k magic damage, real rough approximations, and we had to work to see it.

    We just killed faf with about 5 blms, heres what i can see


    Nukes started out pretty normally, until about 87% - about 6 minutes in (so about 6500hp later?), this is when the Maximum damage of a spell started falling and the Resist rate started rising, At one point, 3 blackmages MB'd thunder4 and we got 3 resists on the MB, full resist, 125-350dmg.

    Later in the fight, i MB'd with af2legs on for 1391(thunder4) without any other blms casting, and then about 8 minutes later, 3 blms cast on a MB, and the damage was something like, 1998 Burst II >> 1226 Thunder IV >> 1176 Thunder IV(me, with af2legs on), so I think it takes a few minutes for the damage and resistance to reset, as you can see the difference is over 200 dmg.

    the maximum damage reduction isnt as bad as the resist rate increase, imo.

    killed in about 40 minutes with 17 people(no melees until 55%, 10%breath 10%roar 30%terror 50%wing -_-)

    Killed Fortitude with about 6 BLM, regular dmg, regular resist rate. Very little difference there imo. Burst II MB for 1800+ from one BLM, unbursted Thundaga III for 1300+ from me at about 10% health. Seems fine.

    Like they said, resist rate varies from mob to mob, obviously a mob which FORCES you to manaburn it, wouldnt be heavily nerfed, considering its the only option they give you to kill.

    I know it's still early days but I for one am glad to see this nerf is pretty insignificant.

    You Magic bursted Faf for 1176 with af2 legs? That sounds low to me should be 1500 at least , And did you notice if ele seal made a difference?
