Yeah, I macroed in Chaos Burgeonet and Abyss Gauntlets for Drain-TP, and when I used it on the main mob for Sheep in Antlion's Clothing, I got:

"Xanoxonax casts Absorb-TP on Tuchulcha, but the spell fails to take effect."

I need to test it out some more, namely on merit mobs, etc. to see if this is even worth the time it takes to cast it.

When I was testing it on EPs, 50 TP absorbed on Lesser Colibri with no Dark magic gear, 63 TP absorbed with Chaos Burgeonet and Abyss Gauntlets. Both of those times were with Black Cuisses though, so those might have added to the absorb amount.

8 dark merits, get around 290-300 dark skill, DRK gonna replace SAM for HNMs if it lands well tbh.

Once someone drains 50+ TP off a HNM consistantly, then and only then will I say drk has something useful.

I have Black Cuisses/Gadlings/Sollerets macroed in for Absorb TP, they seem to help, I was getting 50-90 TP on EXP monsters. It was a rather short party though, so I didn't get to really test it out.

It seems its a hit-or-miss spell

If it hits, it drains ALL the mobs TP or UP TO what your cap is. Cap prob determined my Dark Magic skill and Black gear.

Dark Seal'd it, and got resisted on SteamC but it had that magic shield up :/

If your toting the right haste gear, its a 30 second recast. So pretty fast recasts too.

This definantly makes DRK a stronger EXP job, probably outparse dual axe WARs now on regular basis, even if NIN is subbed. (might need to for protection :/) If the DRK is decent, anyways

Fought MG now, DarK Seal did 92% TP drain, and it resisted all 3 other times i tried "adfsdf, but the spell fails to take effect"

275 Dark magic skill btw, anyone have a set up for max DRK Dark skill gear? and what it hits?

My Dark skill is 265 so its not capped, 269? I beleive.

279+ earring 3 + 16 merits is 298 right now, with AF1 head and AF2 hands and black cuisses. Need to try it with maxed out skill though really.

Just because it says it "absorbs 50 tp" doesn't mean the mob loses 50..

2 LS members were in ballista today, the DRK tp drained the war, it said drained 17 tp.. but the war only lost 6.

The reverse is true many times on aspir... I get aspir casted on me, it says the monster drains 20MP but I lose 100. So sadly.. this may not have the effect on HNM's that all the melee desire of draining its TP to negate them being there.
