But its also clear that if you give it too much affection it drain energy..
Basically your kid becomes a spoiled brat who doesn't want to do anything.

Personally I predict something more like 5 or 7 days egg, chick 10 or 12, juvenile 11-15. Or maybe it could vary depending on how it's raised, although that would be harder to predict.Originally Posted by miokomioko
Mine just hatched, took me 4 days after trade. It was a little female chocobo. :3
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww Shizzy has a choccy
awesome, my day 4 should be over later today :D
Got a yellow one, girl.
Named it Ninja Avenger :X
I want a yellow chocobo who thinks he's black ; ;
Mine should hatch tonight then !! How do you feed it? And did new things unlock on the care schedule? (More than Basic Care)
Anyone's chocobo a different color than yellow, yet?
They don't get coloring till 2nd? stage of development when they are a bit bigger (according to altena viewer)
Needs more inbreedingOriginally Posted by Khamsin
Still only basic care available, but you have the option to take your choco for a walk and name it now.
Posting this as a link incase people don't it "spoiled" for them

Edit: Apparently there are more options now, I just looked at the list and it just said Basic Care, but I guess you now have the option to have it listen to music, go for walks, and rest. This is at least what someone was telling me in LS chat before I logged out.
Won't first generation eggs (obtained from quest/store/ISNM) also produce colored chocobos? Or is it reasonable to think that they'll all be yellow until people start breeding them?Originally Posted by BRP
I'm betting crossbreeding may make fancy (non-yellow) chocobos more likely to happen, but any egg may have the "genetics" to produce one. So we'll have a chance of seeing a bird fledge black sometime in the next month or so, and certainly the other colors. I want a green Jennet!
4 days from incubation start to hatching seems to be the norm, give or take a few realtime hours.
I checked my egg at lunch, still hadn't hatched, was just before 4 day mark. Im hoping it'll be hatched by the time I finish work. I've been getting really hungry for eggs lately.
My little birdey hatched on day four. Has anyone started doing experiments with which kinda of egg might produce which chocobo? I know they say it is completly random, but the slightly warm, bit warm, and wrm to the touch might all 3 produce the 1st generation of different colors. Just thought Id ask.
Last I checked all chocobos are born yellow and their feathers don't obtain color variations until they are in the "teen" stage (or whatever you want to call it).
-sidenote- Mine hatched, got named, and I took it on 2 walks in East Sarutabaruta. On the first walk, it met another chick named Spring and made friends. Second walk, nothing happened.
So now that chocobos are hatching, only one question remains:
When will the FFXI chocobo-on-chocobo hentai start to come?
