First and foremost, welcome to the BlueGartr forums.
I. Legal
Any post that would put BlueGartr or any friendly affiliate of BlueGartr at legal or financial risk will be immediately deleted, and the user will be warned, infracted, or banned as necessary. This risk includes, but is not limited to: confidential corporate information, personal information (unless permission by the individual is given; this permission may be revoked at any time), and/or links to sites/downloads which provide copyrighted materials.
II. General Conduct
Posts are expected to be informative, funny, or interesting. If your thread or post cannot manage to do one of these things, do not post. Try to use the shift key, proper punctuation, and keep the lolinternet speech for other forums. Low-content, worthless posts that add nothing to the discussion are not tolerated. This includes, but is not limited to: trolling, inciting or participating in derails, bashing another user because you don’t like them, off-topic posts, single word posts (e.g., ‘First!’, tl;dr), repetition of the newest hilarious catch phrase, &c. As well as necrobumping threads to either increase your postcount (see below) or with useless information. The Human Decency Clause
The use of slurs and pejoratives are infractable when used with discriminatory and/or malicious intent at the discretion of the moderation team.
The Catch-All:
Shitty posts are against the rules, even if they do not explicitly ‘break’ a rule. Don’t be a rules-lawyer. If you find yourself typing “but what rule, exactly, did I violate”, it’s this one.
Spam:
Spam is the cool place to hang out. You can find most of the cool people there. In Spam you can just chill and do whatever and totally relax. "Take it easy" is the Spam motto, for example, that's how laid back it is there. Show up if you want to have a good time. Another good reason to show up is if you want to hang out with friends. Note: While some leeway is available within spam, it is not outside of it.
III. Forum-Specific Rules
Each forum section has a content description below it. Make sure a thread you’d like to post is appropriate for the forum section. Forum sections may also have additional rules in addition to these rules and guidelines. Familiarize yourself with these rules before posting. If you are unsure about the rules, ask the administration or moderation staff.
IV. Images
Images that are not appropriate for a school or professional environment must be tagged nsfw ([nsfw ] img [/ nsfw] without spaces) in forums or threads that do not already specify 'NSFW' (Not Safe For Work). Avatars and signatures must be Safe For Work. Table-breaking images must be spoilered ([spoiler ] img [/ spoiler] without spaces). It is strongly recommended that you upload images you’d like to share to BG Bucket.
V. Post Removal/Editing
Editing out your original post because you’re unhappy with how a thread you’ve made has turned out will result in punitive action. This covers trying to get out of embarrassing yourself on the internet; you posted your stupid, now we’re going to make fun of it. This does not cover accidentally making a thread in the wrong section; in that circumstance, PM a moderator or admin (moderators names are blue, admins red) and ask them to either move or remove the thread.
VI. Moderation
The moderators and administrators of BlueGartr.com work to enforce these rules and guidelines. If you have questions or concerns, please PM a moderator or admin. It is unacceptable to harass moderators for enforcing these rules. If you disagree with the ruling of a moderator, contact an admin to discuss the issue. Backseat Modding: Backseat modding is not tolerated. If you come across a post that violates these rules or a thread that should be in another section, please click the ‘Report Post’ button and create a report.
Reporting Posts: The Report Post button is a very helpful tool for the moderation staff; it brings problems to our attention quickly, and we encourage users to make use of it when necessary. However, this function is not a means of pointing out someone you don’t like, or complaining that someone disagrees with you. Abuse of the Report Post button will be punished.
VII. Accounts
Each user is allotted one account. Creating a new account to circumvent punitive action on your real account, or creating a new account without prior authorization, will result in both accounts being banned. If you wish to make an account that is only usable for spam, for example, contact an admin. Permission will be granted on a case-by-case basis.
New accounts operate on a time-based lockout, preventing the ability to post in certain sections. In addition, accounts that do not have 10 posts are unable to post images or URLs. If you have useful information that you would like to share, but do not have the requisite postcount to do so, PM an admin and we will be happy to adjust your postcount. Spamming posts to increase your postcount will result in a ban.

IX. RMT, Third-Party Programs, Bots
BlueGartr forums strictly forbids buying, selling, or solicitation to buy or sell, game accounts, in-game items, currency, &c., on the forums. This includes public forums as well as via PM or BGChat. Do not link to sites which facilitate the buying/selling of accounts.
Third-party programs represent a difficult grey area. Programs whose use allows further customization and control over existing game features fall under acceptable topics for discussion.
Bots: The solicitation, distribution, and detailed discussion of programs that automate game features, commonly known as "bots," is not allowed. Additionally, discussion of programs whose purpose is to provide a distinct advantage over players who do not use such programs or improve efficiency beyond what is legitimately obtainable (e.g. claim bots, duping bot, and lot bots) is forbidden. Due to the varied nature of such programs, providing a definitive list would be outdated and contested as soon as it was written. As with other issues, this will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis. If you are unsure as to whether a particular third-party program is acceptable to discuss, contact a moderator or administrator.
X. Article Links

Gamespot and IGN articles are not allowed to be linked on BG from DMCA threats. Future threats from other sites will also be blacklisted.
Any quotes from an article must include the web link to the article in the same post as the quote. Quotes cannot contain more than five sentences from the article. After the article is linked, future posts do not need to keep reposting the link. While not required, please learn to write a summary of the article in your post. Many posters read BG from their phones and cannot always click the link. Summaries can be as long as you want them to be.
If you make a mistake you will not be given an infraction, but your posts will be edited and you may receive a warning. If you attempt to circumvent the rules (ie. quoting five sentences each among several posts) you will be infracted or banned.
If you get permission to link a whole article, please PM an administrator first. If you would like an article of yours removed, please PM an administrator and we will look into it.
XI. Future Cases
We reserve the right to add to or refine rules in this list as necessity dictates. These rules are subject to change.
