    Scout Bot, yay or nay...?

Surfing many forums I come upon this.

Here it is see the map on the left the red dot is you and it moves along the mini map of the area(u dont need map normal to have this map up) when an NM is up it appears as a blue dot solid and when it is within a 5 minute pop period it blinks blue at the location of spawn. Handy thing for people who get lost if it didnt tell you where NMs pop lol This was on a friends PC not mine btw so 1. dont hate me or 2. dont get your hopes up lol

That would be useful but since it would work with hnm's i can see some dramaaaaa

This is interesting. I'm gathering from this that Dragonstarr of the Valefor server uses hacks (you can barely make out the server name in the message in the screenshot). Which reminds me of this post:

    http://ffxi.killvoid.com/forums.php?m=p ... 132283&d=0

in which Dragonstarr of the Valefor server had his account hacked, and I think claimed he didn't use 3rd party programs.

So it flashes before pop telling you when/where it's going to pop? or it flashes for 5 mins after pop so you know it just popped?

I could go for some Valefor troubles...

Where'd you find the shot? Was he showing it off on some random site?

Odds are it doesn't actually detect when something is about to pop and forewarn you. It probably just counts down to pop windows once you have inputted the TOD of whatever you are camping like a few of the other TOD recording tools that are already out there.

It just looks like a glorified Wide Scan

It's just something like ffassist or mapmon <_<

There's no way to access widescan data clientside without opening widescan window.

There are definitely programs that allow you to see wide scan mobs without accessing the "widescan" menu, even ones that put an overlay screen on top. However, I don't believe there are any programs that can predict the future and tell you that a NM is gonna pop in 5 minutes, at least that I've seen, maybe a more knowlegable person can correct me. You can set a death watch to tell you when the next placeholder/NM will pop.

The screen shot is just FFassist or a program just like it, nothing too special or hard to find.

There was that thread made a few months ago (by Longheart I think?) about RMTs actually counting down to Cassie's pop time, so it might be possible.
