    CoP Dynamis Drops

Edit: Somebody necrobumped this but the information is still useful/relevant:

    Enjoy!

    Original Post Below:

So far we've noticed that the Nightmare mobs in each zone have job-specific drops. Here's a list (from memory) of what items have dropped from what mobs:

    Valkurm:
    Hippogryph: PLD Cape, SMN Cape
Cactuar: PLD Cape, SMN Cape, BRD Hat -1

    Qufim:
Snoll: SAM Belt, DRK Feet -1
Weapon: SAM Belt, DRG Belt, RNG Feet -1
    Diremite: BST Belt
Kraken: RNG Belt, RNG Feet -1 (not positive on these)

    Buburimu:
Only done this zone once, don't remember anything.

Anyone else notice these drop patterns, and can add which mobs drop what item(s)?

I wish it was a little bit more random so people don't think "well, no more of this enemy type, guess I can leave now/afk/whatever."

I wish CoP-Dynamis didn't totally suck ass. Sadly, square isn't in the business of granting wishes.

Only Valkurm sucks ass... the rest are bareable with better than lolxarc drop rates. (never done tavnasia so I dont really count it)

Your dynamis LS leaders should kick people like that.

As a route planner I try to hit a little bit of everything for everyone. Our last farming run in Bubu, we did Crab, Raven, 6 or 7 NMs (which have xarc-nm drop properties), Bunny, then Eft, which gave us the chance to get accessories for every job in the zone except war and drk.

This is probably flame (or ban.. yay for open minds) me time for talking to a BG member/leader frankly, but your naive CoP bitching gets kinda old. It's not clever; it's certainly not amusing; it only makes you sound not up for the challenge/difficulty/randomness (timesink, lol.. but you're playing a MMO) when in fact there are things that are the best possible option for a given slot in these zones. Don't read a thread clearly about it if you have a problem with it; it's not like this had a subtle title. It's obviously interesting to some people and something people care to discuss and continue doing.

We've won each CoP zone at least 7 times; we've had stellar runs of up to 12 new af; we've had rough runs with ~2, but we enjoyed doing it. The -1/cape+belt rates are definately higher on nightmare mobs than the af2 rate on Kindreds; we haven't had a 0-drop Valk/Bubu/Qufim in at least 5 months, while we have a 0 Af2 Xarca at least once every other month. We rot fewer drops in CoP than any RoZ zone; nothing outside of RDM+BLM in Xarc and Shadow Ring are even really coveted anymore. (DynXarca isn't always open on our server.. dunno about yours) Warrior's Stones, Hydra Hauberts, Hydra Berets, Valor Capes, Melee Capes, Scout's Belts, Abyss Capes, etc. attract a lot of attention...

Also, 2 of the last 3 Xarcabards farmed extremely heavily netted no Af2 whatsoever, just a shadow ring in one and a mantle in the other. So before you go fuck RoZ in the ass because you love it so much and SE apparently owes us overpowered drops in easy zones even RMT can do, realize the same thing with no drops happens there.

Updating Aurik's list with our experiences..

    Buburimu
    Eft, Uragnite = MNK, PLD
Crawler, Dhalmel = WAR, DRK, BLM -1, WHM -1, DRG -1
    Cockatrice, Crab = BLM, DRG
Raven, Scorpion = RDM, RNG, BRD -1
Bunny, Mandragora = NIN, BRD, THF -1

    Valkurm
Hippo: PLD, SMN, WHM-1, PLD -1, WAR -1, NIN
Cactus: PLD, SMN, BRD, BRD-1, BST -1, MNK -1, DRK -1, NIN, NIN -1, WAR -1
Manticore: BLM, DRG, DRG -1, BST, THF, SAM
Sheep: BLM, BLM -1, SMN -1

    Qufim
Stirge: BLM -1, MNK, WHM, DRG, SMN, BST, DRK -1
    Weapon: SMN, BLM -1, DRG
Kraken: THF, RDM, MNK -1, RNG, DRK
Snoll: RDM, THF, DRK -1, DRK, RNG, SMN
    Raptor: DRK, SAM
Roc: SAM, SAM -1, RNG, WHM
Diremite: MNK, BST, DRG, WHM, DRK -1

    Tavnazia (-1 only)
Hornet (2nd floor, legs): BLM, RDM
    Hornet (3rd floor, body):

    Taurus: All Hydra equipment

Edit: Added Viq's Roc experiences in the above post to the same list.

  14. #14

From Buburimu tonight, Bunny dropped THF-1, the other drops we got are already on the list.

A few weeks ago 2nd floor (hydra), south passageway bees dropped RDM legs-1 in Tav. If you're going to keep updating this list, for clarity Tav drops should probably specify which piece (body -1 or legs -1) it was that dropped. Perhaps 2nd floor bees will drop RDM legs -1 but 3rd floor bees don't drop RDM body -1, etc. Also worth noting in Tav, contrary to what we had heard, the Hydra/Kindred do not necissarily drop the same AF as their jobs. We got BST gloves off a Kindred SMN in the same run.

Edit: Also not on any of the lists, we've had Hippos drop NIN belt before.

Editted the Bubu Bunny and Valk Hippo drops. And yes, that's a good addition for Tav drops, all -1 legs will be second floor, all -1 bodies on the third. (This is the 5th recorded case of legs on the second floor so I'm going to go with it.. also, no one is seeing any capes or belts here, which makes sense the hydra gear, so just know in the Tav section it's all -1) As for the NQ AF, we too had ran into some junk ones from random jobs. I really enjoy the 3rd floor of Tavnazia; Xarca AF2 + Hydra gear is usually what people want the most. It's also nice Taurus aren't limited to just one chance of a hydra drop per kill.

  16. #16

Ack, you must have misunderstood. The RDM -1 we got was legs from second floor. You marked it as Body from 3rd floor on your list.

Bah I'm stupid. I even restated it right in the reply but wrote it wrong.

    Last night
    Valkurm

Brd cape (x2) off of sabo
    War belt off of hippo
    Nin belt off of sabo
rdm hat -1 off of sabo

We also found a patch of cactus (8 pulls) in west D-7. Cactus are really easy for manaburn LS, we were in heaven.

Just finished a successfull VD run, heres what dropped:

    NIN belt ( Cactuar I think )
    SAM belt ( sheep )
    THF cape ( sheep )
    BST hat -1 ( sheep )
    DRK hat -1 ( sheep )

I'm pretty sure thats it. Much much better than I had expected to get, as our drop rate has been pretty bad lately. We had a 3 Dyna dry spell, followed by a Sandy which dropped 3 AF, and now this VD run which turned out quite well :D

Updating with our Qufim last night (only thing new to the list was THF from a Gaylas), I realized there was no differentiation between the Gaylas and the Stirges. I'd assume no one else really bothered with the Gaylas; they were pretty out-of-the-way but we wanted to take a new route last night. It's also my personal theory the pattern with jobs/mob families is exclusive to the capes/belts. After having seen 4 pairs of sabots -1 from all different families (we got a pair of sabots -1 from Raptors last night), it just seems like this is the case, while in all the experience across all of the zones, not just Qufim, we've never seen such a large spread on a cape or belt. Even if it's not, I don't think any of the -1 pieces with the exception of like chapeau -1 are worth specifically hunting for, and we already know Wafik found one from a Sabotender. If you take out -1, rearrange the jobs we've seen in Valkurm a bit to make it easier to see, and assume there's a drop difference between Gaylas and Striges, (there might not be) this is what I think we have:

    Buburimu
    Eft, Uragnite: MNK, PLD
    Crawler, Dhalmel: WAR, DRK
    Cockatrice, Crab: BLM, DRG
    Raven, Scorpion: RDM, RNG
    Bunny, Mandragora: NIN, BRD

    Valkurm
Hippo: PLD, SMN, NIN, BRD, WAR
Cactus: PLD, SMN, NIN, BRD, [WAR]
Manticore: BLM, SAM, THF, WHM, BST
Sheep: BLM, SAM, THF, [WHM], [BST]

    Qufim
Stirge: MNK, WHM, DRG, SMN, BST
    Gaylas: THF
    Weapon: SMN, BST, DRG
    Kraken: THF, RDM, RNG, DRK
Snoll: RDM, THF, DRK, RNG, SMN
    Raptor: DRK, SAM
    Roc: SAM, RNG, WHM
    Diremite: MNK, BST, DRG, WHM

It's logical to assume WAR can drop from cactaurs.. WHM and BST can drop from sheep as well (confirmations to help fill in these apparent "blanks" would be awesome), however Qufim seems a bit tougher to pair up families, if you can at all. We account for all 10 jobs perfectly in Buburimu and almost perfectly in Valkurm.

Rearranging from what's above in Qufim..

    Qufim
Stirge: MNK, WHM, DRG, BST, SMN
    Diremite: MNK, WHM, DRG, BST
    Weapon: DRG, BST, SMN
    Gaylas: THF
    Kraken: THF, RDM, DRK, RNG
Snoll: THF, RDM, DRK, RNG, SMN
    Raptor: SAM, DRK
    Roc: SAM, RNG, WHM

Counting Gaylas and Stirges as two separate nightmare mobs, you have 8 families in Qufim. If you don't count them, you have 7. Looking at the first three lines, they appear to work in 3s and neither total is divisible by 3. Perhaps there are 2 bunches and Snolls/Striges/Rocs can drop anything? Snolls and stirges and rocs are the only nightmare families up before the boss dies, I think? If not, why did a snoll drop SMN, why did a Roc drop WHM?

In Buburimu, it's 5 groups of 2. In Valkurm it's 2 groups of 5. How can you get to 10 easily in Qufim?

I'll think about it more later.
