It was. It was the next step up from D&D with rolling dice... which was also fun.

Let's see if anybody else is old enough to have played this one:

Used to dial into the local BBS every day and play LORD and Falcon's Eye. Of course, the BBS only had one phone line, so it wasn't really massively multiplayer, or even multiplayer, but people could attack your character while it was sleeping in the inn while you were offline!

I remember it was the biggest deal when the BBS op installed a second phone line and two people could be online at once. You could actually chat with someone instead of just leaving messages. Unheard of.

Ahh I remember MUDs. I dont even remember the name of the first one I ever played. I do remember being stuck in the newbie area for like a week beating up barneys, getting xp for walking around then getting horribly lost trying to get to the real leveling spots. It was ok though cause I was some doctoresque class and I had a scalpel.

I used to play LORD and Usurper on a couple local BBS too. My guild was highest level on one BBS. We'd each just login, murder everyone sleeping in the inn then logoff. Was fun. :D

what was that game where you were a cat, rabbit, dog, ummmm...and there were a ton of people. You could make your own little world, and people could visit it through going through portals. Also there was ALOT of cybering in that game iirc.

    Furcadia...? was that it???
