Meh after seeing him in person quite a lot, I live in TN and usually go to all the home games, I know loltitans.Originally Posted by Mizango
His arm strength is amazing, seeing how he is only going halfway through on his throw. The thing missing with him is experience and his technique on throwing which will come with more experience in the NFL. Lets face it in college, there wasn't a lot of competition to make him develop. Also with the post you said about the coach making it easier on him, he has room to improve but I wish it would just come quicker.

ROFL at this shit. The bears were not a great team from the get go. Have you seen this schedule? They beat the teams they were supposed to beat. I said 2 or 3 weeks ago that the team had a shady secondary and were prone to mistakes with that QB. Speaking of that QB who you said isnt doing bad after 15 starts...let me point some things out here...
98, 148, 64, 100, 101, 10, 137, 36
Thats his QB ratings from game 1-8
1, 0, 2, 0, 0, 4, 0, 3
That's his INTs in respective order.
1 pick against GB, 2 against Minnesota, 4 against Arizona, 3 against miami.
This dude is all over the map. His consistancy sucks, he has great games against very very weak teams. Detroit, Buffalo, San Francisco, he had GREAT GAMES...those teams have about a .250 winning percentage. 2 of those teams are in the bottom 7 of pass defense, buffalo being the best of the 3 at 19th in the NFL. Here's the problem with grossman, if he gets off to a fast start with a quick TD or two, he get's in a nice groove and plays well, however, if the opposing team survives this quick start, and keeps the game close, grossman starts to force passes that even bret favre would think twice about, he get's behind and tries to play hero by forcing the ball. Grossman is over rated, the bears aren't that great. Who have they beaten? A minnesotea team who is slowly falling from their nice start, and a banged up seattle team? They may be one of the top 2 teams in the NFC, but they can't hold a candle to the top 5-6 in the AFC.
Edit: I called the steelers fall from graces back after the first game of the season that they won. I called a loss to either miami or san francisco for the bears. Im motherfucking brilliant.
Didn't know you took this so personally, take a freakin' chill pill.Originally Posted by Tyche
I did imply that Grossman was inconsistent in my past posts. He's by no means an "awesome" QB, but he has great potential, potential that he'll probably unlock this season. (Yea I called him awesome in one post, but still implied his 'rookieness')
Lots of the Bears secondary have gotten shots to play these last few games. They are by no means the best in the NFL either, but they don't exactly suck. If the Bears had to resort to secondary QB Brian Griese, then yes they'd probably lose every single game under him.
The Bears are a good average team with a lot of potential to unlock. I never jumped on the "Bears in the Superbowl" bandwagon, nor do I think they will make it to the superbowl, but give it another season or two with the similar line-up and they might.
edit: When I named this thread when I made it, it took the words "Bears: Best team in the NFL as of right now" from Mike Ditka and some ESPN sports-casters. also previous posts for consistency.
Apparently if you're not undefeated you suck now...
They're still 7-1. They've played 2 bad games so far this season, and pulled one out of their asses which "they had no business winning." They lost to a Dolphins team though should have beaten, but it's not all bad. It will deflate any cockiness they might have had, which wouldn't be a good thing next sunday heading into NY. They will be working hard this week so that sunday they can prove that they are the team people think they were.
The next 3 games will show more than the rest of the season how good the team is, in my opinion.
I just looked back at the Steelers thread, and you said 9-7, which I guess could happen if they turn things around but... lol @ Anyway's prediction in that thread.
Edit: Also, the 85 Bears were 15-1. Guess who the 1 was.
I just hope the Colts lose one before the last game of the season against Miami. I don't want to think about how crazy it's going to be if they go into that game undefeated.
I think Peyton Manning would absolutely destroy the Dolphins even in that situation. He's insanely consistent (outside of the playoffs) and he would tear holes in the Miami secondary.
Man if Indianapolis does get that far without losing it's going to be a complete circus for the media...
Yea, if any good came out of that game it's that they now know they can be beatenOriginally Posted by Ishido

Now dont get me wrong! I liked the Bears as well back then, but goddamn man. Over exposure ftl. Apparently it was very successful seeing how it was perma burned into my psyche. 21 years later and the same feelings of grief, lament and overwhelming sorrow has once again overcome me. This is going to untimately lead me down the path of heavy drinking and drug habit development. Thanks guys, thanks.
Uggghhhhhh '85
I think the fridge sells bricks and grills not far from me in South Carolina.
Hurts to watch this game at the moment.
Rex grossman sure does suck.

he may have cleaned up some of that suck during halftime.Originally Posted by DeadLegend

Nothing can change the fact that grossman throws like a high schooler.
I've been a fan of the bears since tecmo bowl but they're the enemy when facing the giants. Hotass field goal return btw lol
L O FUCKING L TO THE HUNDREDTH POWER AT HESTER'S TOUCHDOWN.

i really hope they don't let their guard down though. This game can still go either way.
Holy shit. Hester.. I remember him from College. He was pretty good.. and yeah, that run was awesome. Good few blocks down the field too.
