I was kidding on the refresh bit. Gaudy + 2 Rune axes is a pretty decent solo healing combo. Asura used to never have the astral candy so I could never depend on sanction refresh when soloing as /nin.
I got a cheap Rune bow to stack in there for -enmity.Originally Posted by solsovly

a dd bst with adaman hauberk + ridill out dmg a relic drg ... /sigh
ridill bst < temp bst
221 max sword skill (suppa, +16 from merits), gimped axe, and having to camp fafnir; no thanks.

As I say in every thread that comes up about endgame bst, I _LOVE_ my BST, but I hate the fact that almost everything/bst is more useful :/
There is pretty much zero reason whatsoever for me to use my BST main when I have 75WHM and 75RDM. I still do from time to time, but only because I feel cool, not because its more useful :/
Use... both? Why would you mainhand a ridill as anything but a WAR anywayOriginally Posted by Jooeetheplatypus
Okay, I'll bite one this topic.
TP Gear
Main: Woody (Switching to Man/Temp once I obtain a Temp Axe)
Sub: Maneater
Head: Turban
Neck: Chiv Chain
Ears: Brutal/Suppa
Body: Hauberk
Hands: Thick (Dusk when I can afford it)
Rings: Rajas/Woodsman
Back: Amemet+1
Waist: Life Belt (Swift Belt when I can actually use my codex :E)
Legs: Thick (Tiger Pantsu -1 eventually)
Feet: Ogre+1
WS Gear
Main: Woody
Sub: Maneater
Head: Wyvern Helm
Neck: Soil Gorget
Ears: Brutal/Minuet
Body: Hauberk
Hands: Ogre+1
Rings: Rajas/Ruby
Back: Amemet+1
Waist: Warwolf
Legs: Royal Knight Breeches (Beast Trousers +1 in the future)
Feet: Heca
I'm likely to never get a drop from sky ever again, so no Heca body or Tiger Pantsu for me. Once I cap axe and get to work on STR merits I might sub in a piece of accuracy gear or two on my WS gear when eating meat, depending on what I'm fighting. My average Rampage probably numbers between 600-700 right now, though I don't have any hard data to back any numbers up. Beast Affinity merits and AF2 hands will make funguar jugs worthwhile again. Obviously the gear I solo in looks slightly different, but being a taru, for the most part I can gear up for heavy damage and my pets still manage to keep hate. I also rarely sub whm for anything.
Better question is, why would a BST use Ridill ever, with the what, 230 max sword skill, and 297 max axe?Originally Posted by Ryko

MAKE IT SNAPPY
The same reason some people offhand krakens? You mainhand a stronger weapon you are suited for and offhand the one that's meant to supplement your TP gain. You can do this with like... maneater/temp or just do temp/ridill, you're going to suck compared to real damage dealers anyway and the difference will be minimal regardless.Originally Posted by Runningdemon
Doubt it. Even with full acc and sushi, BST with a sword can't hit the broadside of a barn. Temperance is better than Ridill for BST in every way.
Do you know how little in terms of acc you'd need to hit most low-end exp burn mobs? North end thickets, trolls, and statues yeah use your strong weapon but puks + south end thickets, the mire? If you couldnt hit those with sushi then I dont really know what to tell you, those things are jokes.Doubt it. Even with full acc and sushi, BST with a sword can't hit the broadside of a barn. Yeah, and BST's 200 base sword is a bigger joke.
ok there buddy, I think you're severely mistaken how little you need in the way of skill or accuracy to hit a VT mob with sushi but so be it.
Hit on T pots in sky for Kirin TP build with BST Seiryu Sword back when we thought spirits was best idea, think I have a good idea.
Your loosing way too much using sushi though. You might as well just use temp axe and eat meat instead.
