    Looks interesting.

One thing I always wished I could change from Halo2 was to make the vehicles less gimpy. I mean they are fun to screw around in, and sometimes me and my friends play 'vehicles only' just for shits. But other than that, I mean you are a sitting duck in most vehicles considering it only takes one rocket or a couple well-placed grenades to completely obliterate you...

I really hope they don't change too much though. Better graphics, more maps, and some new interesting variants of vs. play, and I'll be happy.

Slayer Team-Slayer Oddball CTF King-of-the-hill, these vs. variants are quite boring by now, give us some new options lol.

Are you serious? One of the things that pissed me off most about Halo 2 was the vehicles. They're way too fucking strong. Overall I think Halo 2 is a lot more fun than the first, but only because of XBL. I hope Halo 3 is more like Halo 1 than 2.

The attacks on Halo 2 were more accurate and didn't take any skill online like Halo 1 ..that was the real annoyance. Real noobs could actually be 'good'.

Exactly! It took so long to master the TSK in Halo, and being able to use the Sniper effectively wasn't easy. The difference between a pro and a mediocre player is much more noticeable in Halo 1 than it is in 2.

I had one friend who would always get pissed off whenever me and another guy we know would only dick around in vehicles the entire match.

    Same ol' Halo...

Halo 2 was good but not great. I really doubt amazing graphics can save this game.

My friend and I did that too, except then we would get serious, and then the other people would get pissed at us for owning their team (we rarely got to play on the same team because we were the 2 best in our group).

Halo > Halo 2. If they made Halo 3 the same as Halo 1 with better graphics, and more multiplayer options (maps, game styles, xbox live, etc) I would buy 360 for it alone.

The vehicles thing is just my personal inclination, not necessarily something I would implement in the game. Actually what might even be better than my original idea of buffing/balancing the vehicles, would be to make a separate Halo game that actually focused on vehicle combat. That probably wouldn't sell too well though haha. Just a random idea...

What we like to do is set starting weapon to the pistol, no starting grenades ( grenades on map tho ), no weapons on map, random vehicles, on Zanzibar. No teams, but we make short-term alliances which allows for backstabbing and hilarious warthog battles. I never play online, I just like to get a lot of close friends together and have fun, so its obviously pretty laid back.

Anyway, yeah your right good graphics can't really 'save' the game. I guess what I'm really crossing my fingers for is what I mentioned earlier, a wider variety if interesting vs. modes. We've pretty much gone through every possible outcome with the given options, and its all so very stale at this point ( which is what causes me to come up with silly matches like the one described above ). I want options that allow me to come up with bat-shit retarded vs. games for maximum lulz.

IMO the vehicles were ruined the moment they decided to give the rocket launchers a lock-on feature.

w/ the exception of the banshee, none of them have enough instant mobility to reliably dodge something that leaves the gun and hits you a few seconds later.

    Fucking agreed 100%

The scorpion tank goes down in what, 3 rockets? 3?! Its a TANK, not a fucking Ford Escort.

Also being able to jump onto the tank and punch through the door, killing the target in just a few punches... always felt extremely cheap to me.

I'm not asking for vehicles to be omgGodMode, I'm just asking that they be a little more viable in standard combat lol.

But hey, less about vehicles, more about how Halo 3 needs to provide new entertaining vs modes other than resorting to "lol lazers onry." ( yeah, played that more times than I care to admit )

Well, the only reason for the rocket lock on feature is for the ghosts' boosting and for the banshees... Another thing is you can stick a warthog with a plasma grenade and it won't be destroyed and the driver doesn't die. Also, making the vehicles blow up was a huge mistake too. The best thing about them not blowing up was you could use them to counter. For example, you're playing Blood Gulch CTF and attempt to steal the flag from the enemy base, only to get killed. Enemy hops in the warthog and makes a rush for the base while people are dead. Of course it's more realistic that they'd blow up, but that's why it's a video game.

MLG settings make Halo 2 a lot more fun, but I still don't think it compares to Halo 1 at all. If they switched everything back to the way it was in H1, improved the damage, kept the no-fall damage, and tweaked the game in a few other ways it'd be perfect.

halo > halo 2 ... but after 2 years of playing on live (while lfp for monk :O ) i thought i kicked ass @ the game, then went to a LAN party, and we stuck in halo 1.. i was horrible, and i could beat it on legendary back in the day <_<

i do hope they make it more like halo 1 playing, but then nearly the same as the halo 2 live system.

Found the vid that made me realize that when I started back playing Halo 2 awhile back.

If you can't dodge a sword lunge or walk back instead of running at the guy with sword then you suck. Also if you're going to make the excuse how do I know he has sword!? It's the guy who's opting to run at you instead of keeping his distance and BRing you. How to dodge a sword lunge? Move to your right, omg so hard. How to beat someone with sword even more easily? BXR them in the face(wouldn't try this on LAN only XBL), or right side-step + stick with plasma (noobish and not reliable), or simply keep backing up as they run at you and hit them with your BR(best way to beat someone with sword), only takes about 1.5 seconds to get off 2 shots and a double shot to take out a charging sword guy, who is making little to no progress on you because you're backing up.(RRXRR)

Also, lol at the video somebody posted. One: that video was done on a pre update XBOX without the updates that XBOX Live has implemented. How can I tell? In the scene about melees it took way too many bucks to kill the guy. It shouldn't take more than 2 if you're moving while doing the buck, which is why BXB is so good when you can't BXR, or 3 if you aren't moving.

Halo2 does require less skill, but that video only holds credibility in one department and that's in it's clip on sweep sniping. That is rampant in Halo2 among the higher tiered players, you can even shoot through walls in some instances with it. The scene with BR/PP is just stupid, no Halo2 pros use PP because there ARE NO DUALS on freakin MLG game types. Halo2 in the competitive scene is totally fair and has little to no errors really. I will agree however that Halo1 does require more skill because of the absence of auto-aim and the fact that there is a sidearm which can shoot across the map. (BLB on H1 ftw).

Halo 3 comes in 3 different flavors. Basic, Collectors and Legendary. Guess which one comes with a helmet and 3 extra discs worth of content?

did i say that i cant dodge a sword? no. Did i say i wouldnt keep it hidden? no. (which btw in halo3 you will be able to see the players sub weapon on their back)

Halo2 went from a good MP game to a race for the sword.
