    Halloween movie suggestions

All of the Halloween parties and such happened over the weekend, so I'm spending Halloween at a friend's house and I'm trying to figure out what movies we should rent (horror films of course). Kind of going for more recent ones, like within the last 10-15 years or so. Any suggestions?

    New ones? They suck.

Get the old 1959 House on Haunted Hill, or any other Vincent Price movies.

That would work for me, but unfortunately, the group of friends I'm seeing tonight aren't into anything older at all. One of the girls had nightmares from freakin' "The Ring" so it won't take much.

If you're watching with someone that got nightmares from the ring, get Event Horizon.

It will scar her for life.

I'm also told that even though they're older, any of the Dawn of the Dead/Day of the Dead movies are good. It's kind of sad that I've never seen them.

Evil Dead, Evil Dead 2. Those would be great.

God those movies are so fucking hilarious. I always think of the hand that got chopped off and crawls around on the floor trying to kill that girl.

Anyway, tonight we decided to get a rather new movie to watch, so the wife and I are gonna watch "The Omen".

The Omen was one of the biggest pieces of shit I've ever seen in a movie theatre. Seriously, Silent Hill was scarier than it.

The Excorsist is always a good classic.

The Excorsism of Emily Rose is also pretty creepy.

I enjoyed the first Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer.

Both the old and the new Dawn of the Dead movies are ok as well.

Prince of Darkness. The Thing from Another World.

Both John Carpenter films, and both probably a little older than you are looking for, but both highly recommended, especially Prince of Darkness. Most psychological horror in that one, with a couple "jump" moments.

Well, I decided that since I'm paying for the rentals, I'll get whatever the hell I want, so thanks for the suggestions. Definitely looking into a few of them. Keep them coming please.

I don't know if I've ever been more disappointed with a movie in my life. Seriously, the game is awesome, the movie is so bad that you end up trying to see if you can choke yourself to death with popcorn and a straw. It has so much potential too, the first like 20 minutes were pretty decent.

    /sigh.

Thinking about it, has there, in the history of film, been a good game->movie? Tron doesn't count.

I wondered why Mario in that movie looked familiar... he was Smee in Hook!
