Ok I didnt know any other place to ask something like this so I figured i'd try here. Windows update made me download IE7 and I just installed it and now I have a problem that I cant figure out how to fix.

Problem:

It's only those 2 things displayed in whatever language that is (Japanese?). Has anyone else encountered something like this or know how to fix it? I'd be much appreciative.

that's not any language, you have the wrong encoder on.

try right clicking and changing the Encoding to Western European or Unicode.

i've had problems with the Encoding when i actually want to use it though.

I like the tabbed browsing a lot. Saves my taskbar from being filled up with 9 million apps (I don't like grouping on the taskbar.)

None of those things worked, just changed how those characters looked but none of it is English. This is really irritating -_-;

EDIT: When I opened the encoding tab it was set to Western European (ISO) and I tried Auto-Select after trying what you said and it went to Japanese (Shift-JIS)

go to regional language and options (in control panel)


regional options, make sure it's english (United States),
advance tap, make sure it's english (United States),

That should fix your problem

Do you have IME installed for windower? Some of my text is JP since I installed that plugin.

And oh yes, firefox > ie.

Neither am I, but it doesn't touch the system files during the install so I can and do use it.
