Is the guide useful or no?

Just wanted to get peoples opinions. I'm Lv12ish now and past the Judge on the Leviathan. I'm just wondering if people have found the official guide to be helpful or not and if it's worth buying. Last FF I played I didn't buy the guide till I couldn't figure out what to do.

Same, mainly i like the guide for the maps, hunt and quest info, license board is nice too so i know what i wanna go for lol
20 bucks well worth it ;o

Definately for the maps and for farming and exp'ing purposes, just to see what mobs/levels are in certain zones.

qft. the Liscense board map helped me so much in planning my steps it was worth it. Although im sure in the next few weeks a few will leak onto the internet, it was still money well spent.

Already did, well not the one from the guides offically, but there's other sources out.

I don't really like playing with any guide on my first run, but does it include a lot of official artwork in it? That's usually why I'd pick one up. Just wondering... might go get it today if so

not anything we haven't already seen, except maybe for the Espers. most/all of the character artwork is the same pictures we've seen in the promos or on the web site

the extra costing guide has special artwork or something in it, and its as big as a freakin encyclopedia, like 30 bucks i think ;o
i passed on that and just got the collectors edition game

i got the guide as a collectors item, and will follow it when i play the game the second time through..

but atm i jus used it to read up on espers, and some of the intro stuff.. its a nice read...

didnt wanna look at license board/walkthrough/sidequests till the second time around... idk im weird like that

Just got mine today and I love it. Already 40+ hours into the game and I don't plan on following the walkthrough unless I get stuck somewhere. I mainly bought it for the maps and monster/loot/license information (and something to read on the john lol).

The guide's maps are awesome (should have indicated that treasure urns are random spawn though)

Oh yea, the guide tells you that you can handle the Hexthera before heading to Garamsythe Waterway, you can't

When you flip to the back, it says something different; that you need at least 3 people. But that's only flaw I saw in it so far :D
