Classical Asian Music...? Not sure what to call it.

I'm having some trouble finding good asian music. I'm not talking about techno or anything like that, rather, orchestral music. Anybody have any suggestions?

FFXI theme music was pretty cool, does anybody know where I could get ahold of some of it, keeping in mind I don't play the game anymore and don't have it installed.

Oh, and hey to anyone from way back.

how about chinese orchestra music (or chinese classical). But don't expect it will be like those kind of western classical type. And mostly those kind of music is hard to accept by people who use to listen popluar music.

But if you really want to try to listen, maybe you can try search thru taiwan website, or maybe some china website.

Depends what you mean by classical. Either you mean old, or you mean in a western classical style.

As for the latter, Ryuichi Sakamoto is a good place to start.

Hey Orfeo, When I saw you as the op I figured someone necro'd a thread, lol. [I only lurked back then]

Assuming we all love Uematsu, If you can get a copy of Dear Friends concert, it was outstanding. Also the FF6 Grand Finale CD is good [nice Italian singer for ochestration Aria de mezzo carreterre].

FFXI Theme, the original one, was Vanadiel March, I have an MP3, PM me a MSN name and I can send it to you.

As far as other asian musicians, Chrono cross's music by Cried is excellent.

hmm I do have alot.. "orchestrational" anime music (which is technically japanese)

I don't really go out looking for the stuff, I only collect game/anime music so won't have a wide variety other then that range.

if you have a anime series/game series you'd want maybe orchestrational music from i may have it, you can request on my site

People post music they listen to here.

    Hi, long time no see.
    Whatever happened to your band?

  12. #12

Whoa its rocl! Whats up man?

Ehh, our drummer moved to france to join the french foreign allegience. lol. He was kinda the foundation of our band, seeing as he had been playing drums for 16 years and could make a beat to anything we tossed his way.

Search for things with the Erhu, great instrument that nobody knows about really.

  16. #16

I happen to have a CD I got straight out of Hong Kong that highlights the erhu, so if you PM me I can try to upload or send it.

Many Asian dramas have a good variety of instrumental music on their soundtracks.. I usually get most of my music from http://s9.invisionfree.com/bww2/index.php? or http://silentregrets.com/ (good Asian drama site too!).

  19. #19

deathXcoreXmetal rocker? lol. That was a punk band.

So, before this thread disappears, could somebody refresh my memory on marking something in your favorites? I was never really a computer buff and havent used computers much in a good year or so since i quit FFXI

The Noir OSTs has a lot of "classical" or "orchestral" tracks to it. Rather nice.
