    /sigh Computer help

Don't know my internet can't always work correctly, but w/e.

So lately my internet on all 3 of our computers have been going out, only it still says connected with a great signal. Problem shows up as IP address problem and I should contact ISP. Few minutes later, problem usually corrects itself (or I reset router) and it works fine again. How the hell do I fix this?

    Update your routers firmware.

Is it wireless? If so try straight connecting it to your modem and see if the problem persists on just one machine.

A browser hijack might have been added to your hosts file, or you might have some type of spyware/malware that is mass sending itself out taking out your internet via too many packets being sent at once.

sometimes if you release then renew your IP you can fix this problem...

    has worked for me.

Go to run on your computer then in the cmd promt type:

    /ipconfig release

    then...

    /ipconfig renew

Go here and pick your model. Download the firmware/follow the instructions.

Going to bed so don't expect another reply from me if you get stuck. =P

EDIT: Before I go, I thought I'd mention that the instructions I was referring to is in the .zip file you download once you've selected your router model. Unzip it with WinZip and read the readme first (dur).

mmk, so I downloaded the file, unziped it, and my computer still can not read the file. It downloads as a bin file, I unzip it, and it opens it in notepad as complete gibberish. So close to solving the problem, someone please help 1 last time

I had a similar problem recently, it was spyware. Ctrl+Alt+Delete see if there is any new/abnormal processes running. When i would end that process it would work fine, and i ended up using avg and shit to block it for good.

Done a few spyware checks with a few different programs and my comp is clean. The word version of that firmware description matches what my problems are (PPPoE bullshit), just can't open this damn file to finally fix it

try loading the bin file with some image loader

  14. #14

Burn the file to a CD if there is a .cue file w/ the .bin. I'm pretty sure .bin files are CD-ROM images. Or use something like WinISO or ISOBuster

Reinstall windows and install a new power supply.
