    Spyware Doctor

Has anyone had any experience with this program? I would really like to get a second protection program for my computer. I have seen all the high reviews for it, but I would like to see any personal comments about it.

Also, If I buy it online, and they give me the code to enter, can I download it again for free (full version), if I were to let's say, re-format my computer?

instead of buying it open google, and type "spyware doctor crack" browse a few links and you can find it for free (with a crack)

I thought spyware doctor was spyware?

Most of the ones that pop up and ask you to pay for spyware protection are..

Just use firefox and stay off the porn sites.

Hrm.. than the only safe bet would be to install windows 2000 in vmware, change your disk after install to "independent-nonpersistent" and browse porn from there.

With a non-persistent disk, your vmware session will be 100% reset each time you end it.. in other words you could delete the entire c:\windows directory and it would be back the next time you started that vmware session.

I support a lot of workstations that work like this, we even give them a persistent e: drive and configure widows to store their my documents there.. it is a little more expensive to setup for the customer up front, but they never have to deal with having to reinstall windows because some secretary thought it was ok to go to partypoker or some shit.

(and LOL at the person who suggested downloading a crack to a anti-spyware program.. thats the most retarded thing I have read all day.. run a untrusted binary written by a hacker in hopes of a secure system is like fucking puppies for virginity.)

Hijackthis and spybot are the ones I use, and they are both free. Haven't had a problem with my computer at all.

    Necro :X
I heard about this program recently, a lot of people recommending it for hacked account prevention. I was impressed with the scan and everything but it absolutely destroyed my start up process, it took me about 15 minutes just to get it shut down so everything could continue normally. Does anyone know why? I'm uninstalling it for now.

Seems to me it's just a huge resource hog like countless other programs out there. I'm still under the firm conclusion that using Firefox, AdAware and Spybot S&D along with a good virus software are all you really need.

    Re: Spyware Doctor

Spyware Doctor is a very very good program for removing all kinds of spyware and their associated processes and registry entries. You can take your chances with Spybot S&D, it's a good program, but the ones you have to pay for will always have the edge. PC Tools is a good company and SD is a great program. Just don't use the on-guard protection, that's what rapes your memory usage. It's not needed unless you have an infection and want to contain it while you get rid of it. In the meantime just turn off the on-guard and have it scan every so often.
