Jin is 4 hit, Senj would be 3 of the hits, Fudo would be 1.

Oh wow, lol. While dualwielding you get an extra hit for your offhand.

Neophytal = BB MNK, fully meritted.

Hailie = Ridill War, not sure on merits, and no adaman hauberk.

I'll stick with my Senj/Unji =) Even if the damage difference is minimal, swinging fast is fun (I'd get an unsho but I have more important things to worry about)

I've done it, not too farfetched really...

Ridill doesn't automatically make a WAR god, same goes for BB and Monk.

Fighting stuff at Mamool Ja Staging Point, I think we were at North Camp. Like I said I don't know the War's merits, but I'd guess she doesn't have many, if any at all sword merits.

Also the MNK doesn't have haidate but besides that he's pretty pimped.

Don't doubt the power of ninja =P

Looks like the MNK was using Meat from his ACC, which is hard to pull off in North camp ACC. A Ridill WAR w/o merits will have a hard time there too due to ACC.

Didn't noticed the columns, too tired to be perceptive.

That's my accuracy, I have other people's filtered so it counts them as 100%. Don't forget that puks use aoe flash so the accuracy on there doesn't properly portray your general accuracy. Missing for 5 or so seconds straight is a lot when you attack almost non-stop. I was using Sole Sushi. Dunno about the others.

    Jedimind was drk/war btw.

looking at that list o melee I can confidently say that they both kinda sucked. like was said before, ridill doesnt make a war god, a war has to make themselves into one

That 5% haste and 15DEX he didn't have is probably why you outparsed him, if he truly was pimp everywhere else.

Guess you jumped in at the middle of the thread.. The consensus is that Senj/Fudo parses as well as Senj/Unji or U/U.

    I've parsed all 3 combo's personally.

Senj / Unji and U/U are extremely close.

I dunno how people are getting senj / fudo = the other two, was at average (off top of my head) 1.5% difference which is alot to me.

But yes, I didn't even read the thread, I saw the votes and recounted my adventures parsing terrible and not-so-terrible katana combos.

    Oh those were the days

I have to agree with what the others said, the numbers for the MNK and WAR are pretty bad... lol

Either they weren't too good, or they were having one hell of a really bad day. I mean no offense to the DDs but their WS averages are kind of below average, and even the melee averages are pretty low overall. On average most well-equiped WARs I PT with have a WS average range of about 750-1k, 750 being just about as bad as it gets. For MNKs it's just about the same, except more like 650 to 950. Then, melee averages are usually at least over 60.

But, that just had to be said. I don't disagree with S/U being a good combination, and in fact as I said earlier I support U/U and S/U as being the top two combinations (and the difference between them both being just about imeasurable). And also, by no means am I saying that Rid WAR/NINs and MNKs the end all for exp either (I'm a strong believer against that), I have parses winning against some on NIN as well (even on DRK, lol.. and SAM just buries everyone uncontested so far, including a Spharai+BB+best gear+full merits MNK/WAR). But yeah, it's just those numbers are pretty weak. D:

And I'm still kind of wondering why people use S/F (as Sath is). I'm beginning to think it's just one of those things where many NINs see the majority uses S/F because it's the easiest to get, and so they use it as well. Too bad the majority of the DD NINs are horrid though, I very rarely see any good ones (and I seek a lot).

I'd say Senj/Unji or Senj/Fudo. I played around with U/U before the TP floor change back in the day, and it was pretty good then, but it just seems lackluster after the change, and especially not worth the price tag on an Unsho.

Fudo is by no means a bad katana, it has the highest non relic DPS, and it has a decent mod on it. You just don't get the same advantage using an Unsho you used to, because ~4 TP a swing will take you 25 hits instead of ~5 TP a swing which is 20 hits. (TP values are going to vary depending on the amount of DW and Store TP you have) And the WS dmg isn't that different, you're trading 6 WS att+ for 8 base dmg and 3% crit on off hand. It just won't be a night and day difference. But certainly for DoT I feel a Fudo or Senj is just going to outperform an Unsho easily.

  20. #40

S/F isn't 5 TP per hit anymore either, unless you're not using any dual wield gear (unlikely since most use NINs at least use Suppanommi) and wearing at least +5 to +7 Store TP gear. Even 4.9 TP per hit would make you fall short of 100% TP.

Under a situation most NINs are, with one extra dual wield bonus and +6 store TP from Rajas/Brutal, S/F is 21 hits to 100 TP, S/U is 21 hits to 100 TP, and U/U is 22 hits. UU and SF also get to 100 TP faster than S/F by over an attack round. The dual wield adjustment didn't just effect U/U, it effects all katanas.

I kind of want to try that, but Haya's like don't exist on my server in the first place. I think at least with a HQ Haya though it could potentially replace Unji, depending on the situation.
