    AF Memory Erasure

My turn at the newbie advice section:
While leveling my warrior, I only did the quest for boots, but never activated hands quest/coffer. Now that I'm leveling ninja (46 atm), will I need to activate war AF hands before being able to go after nin? Also, if I were to drop war AF weapon and AF boots, would I be able to use the same NPC that erases AF memory (the one people use to request AF)?

As long as you never activated the glove quest you can do the full set for any other job, the second you queue a glove quest you have to finish it to grab your shit for other jobs.

I have a similar question along the same lines. I upgraded my Gallant Surcoat to a +1 but would like to get my NQ level 60 version back. How can I go about doing this?

Someone once said that you start the glove quest on whatever job you talk to the quest starter on. So if you go on NIN (provided you never talked to him on WAR) it should start the NIN glove quest and never have to bother with the rest of WAR AF.

I think you can only restart AF quests when you have completed the whole series, at least that is the impression that I got from the guy when I talked to him.

When you do that, can you jump straight to the AF3 quest, or would you have to do AF1-2 (drop your boots?) in order to start AF3?

All the quests disappear from your quest log, so you'd have to start over from AF1.

just drop the rest of your pld af1 except feet and body. Then get them turned into +1 with limbus coins. The rest of it is crap anyway... Thats what I did anyway.

CoP Dynamis is nothing to look forward too.
Plus I'm bored at work and my LS Forum is dead... partially due to the fact that the LS is dead... and the War Section on KI doesn't amuse me anymore.

Exactly why the new titles fail.

Mini-necro, but thought I'd provide an update. Well derailed as well.

Anyways, seems that by not having ever started AF hands or AF3 quests, I was able to start nin AF2 and AF hands quests. Didn't have to drop/erase, just found the NPC and flagged the quest.

I'm in the midst of re-doing PLD AF after upgrading my boots.
The NPC specifically told me he cleared my 'four' quests. I assume this is (#1) AF1 weapon, the (#2,3) 2 quested pieces and the (#4) gloves/darkspark. I further assume this means I do *not* need to redo the 2 pieces that come directly out of the coffers.

How are my assumptions so far? I've redone the weapon+feet but holding off the on the rest until I upgrade Body+1 and I'm curious to know ahead of time what still is/isn't involved with redoing cleared AF.

You are correct about the four quests. The only quest you have to redo is the first one, unless the armor you want to upgrade is from the second or third quest. Starting the second quest allows you to restart the glove quest and open coffers. (But leaving the glove quest open may screw you down the line when you forget about it and can't figure out why you can't open up the glove quest for another job.)
