1. Starlight Celebration cakes that affect the statuses of all nearby party members.
2. A piping-hot Far Eastern soup traditionally eaten during New Year's celebrations.

I'm getting rather tired of the Aht-Urhgan style armors. There's so much of it already, Yigit, Pahluwan, Amir, Magus, Corsair's, Sipahi, Jaridah. All with pretty much the same gross-colored motif. All three of those ugly new gears have the same damn color palette. Also, what's with the new BLU/PUP JSE thing's big-ass sporran? Aht-Urhgan = Scotland now? I dunno... I just miss good-looking gears with perhaps a little color in them. I was hoping for something like Aphmau's outfits... ;(

first I thought the galka meant MNK jse, but then I remembered SE's tendency to classify jobs into 'families,' like they did with the Abjuration sets and the Assault sets. From L to R, they basically look like Amir v.2, Pahluwan v.2, and Yigit v.2.

I'll find these to be a huge graphic dissapointment if they are the "new abj" they hinted to so many moons ago... I refuse to accept a reskinned DRK AF to be the new melee abj...

Perhaps my standards are too low, but compared to the rest of the game, where every crab, harness, tiger, robe, etc. Looks -exactly- the same as a dozen others of its type without even minor color changes, a well done reskinning looks cool to me.
The Drk ripoff looks cool at least. The other two seem to be normal TAU fashion of incredibly complicated and guady yet failing to look special.

I think, purely stylistically, they look pretty cool. I like all the newer armor sets, beginning with CoP (Igqira, Barone/Homam, Sha'ir). The older, pre-zilart stuff looks like ass in comparison, lol. Haubergeon, SH, Vermillion cloak, and the AF1 sets are the absolute tops from that era.

Maybe those scales in the middle look too much like feathers from Yagudo. I wonder what that hairy bush on the Mithra is though

And I think they look fine. If you like the blandness, go .dat swap, I think the complexity of the designs look nice and exotic, you know, which is the theme of the whole expansion.

I think they look great, and I think that anyone that expects mounds of new models from SE at this point obviously hasnt been playing the same game as me for the last 4 years.


Edit: If they dont increase actual inventory space, I dont know what the fuck I am going to do if they introduce anything else good for BLM. I dont have enough room as it is, and could already fill 65-70 slots -_-

i totally agree

all of ToAU gear, except for AFs and those Lv55 set, is just an overdetailed mess pasted on old models. wear them as a Galka and the details grow too big, wear them as a Taru to hurt your eyes.
there's no *concept* behind these pieces, just a hell of a long pixel texture work to make them look precious.

to me, state-of-the-art of FF concepts is still RDM AF2. well designed, cool, sober yet unique

It's all gonna depend on what's on them, of course. But I kind lol at the "they look ugly comment", they are better than anything from sky, O hat, etc...
