True. Also some of the stat items still drop on west path including str (i forget what drops it exactly). The only thing that could justify East path in my mind so far is if the NM and Dormant Rampart can somehow drop a special armor or help to enfeeble the Long Bow Chariot. That is, assuming that the NM and DR don't appear on west route (not witnessed but still unknown).
Mad Bomber doesnt weaken LBC, thats for sure.
My bad, I meant Dormant Ramparts. Ive never seen one pop after killing the 4 flan, but we have gone west both times.Originally Posted by NynJa
So, is there a consensus that the west path on the first floor is the best one to take? This would likely make the wamoura's the first mobs you kill. Would it be a viable option to invis/sneak past the mobs and kill the scorps first to get magic?? (Wamouras are typically true sight but if you started to the east you would hypothetically be able to get past the bombs/crawlers and make it to the scorps and unlock magic first, however, our group hasn't seen how hard the scorps are when everything is locked).
I've gone only 2 times, both times we've gone West on the first floor...it would seem that taking out a few Bombs to stock up on Weapons / SJs and then going for Wamouras is the best way to unlock the lower tier for groups.
Taking out Wamourascampas before you have Weapons / SJs / Max HP can be lethal if you have a low amount of MNKs / NINs / lolPUPs...the 2nd time i went, we basically lost on the 3rd mob because all our DD had died from their AoEs, everyone that was alive had no H2H skill so we just decided "fuck it" and warped out. Killing off bombs then wamouras would probably be best, but be careful cause they can blow up at some shitty times.
found in the other topic sorry.

# Mad Bomber
We went through the East side (1st Floor) on our Sunday run.
Bifrons @ I-10: Incus and Spissatus from Bifrons. Priority: BLM, RDM, and then WHM.
Carmine Eruca: Congestus (VIT) and Mediocris (CHR).
** Used Silent Oils to get passed the Erucas.
Bifrons @ I-9/J-9 room: Duplicatus, Humilus, and Anu's tiara.
** Continued North along I/J border fighting only Bifrons.
Troll Gem @ J-7(?) room: (forgot drops)
Scorpions @ I-7 room: for Praecip (magic) and Opacus (JAs).
** Priority for Magic: WHM (only 2 out of our 3), and then BLMs and RDMs.
Scorpions and Trolls from Big room H-8 for more of their cell drops.
Then we looked for the Mad Bomber. Found it at J-10.
WHMs, Banish3 and Banishga2 hit for over 60 damage on him. I don't know if that's a lot compared to everyone else since I had it filtered.
Defeated it without Self-Destruct. No drops. Dormant Rampart appears.
# Reactionary Rampart
We attacked RR and took just a small amount of its HP off. Then we started fighting wave after wave of Chigoe. I think they were expecting some NM to pop. I saw that a few times, one or two of our group would run off to see if any of the doors woudl open(?). I looked to see if a door was open on the southwest side, but it looked closed. I didn't get close enough to try to open it though.
After about maybe 20-25 chigoe, we got its HP down to a sliver and kept killing Chigoe. Another couple of waves and we just killed it.
The Chigoe don't hit hard at all. I was able to tank a few as WHM with just stoneskin and aquavail.
Defeated RR. No Drops.
# Observations
We spent a lot of time trying to work out a strategy for the East side and for dealing with Mad Bomber/RR. Killing wave after wave of Chigoe didn't seem to do anything that we could tell. Because we spent so much time on the Chigoe and other things, we didn't have time to see the effect on LBC.
Are there Bifrons to the west along with the Wamoura's or are there only bombs to the east starting with the room with the Eruca's?

People are saying that touching dormant rampart brings you to the 3rd floor. Have you tried to pull the RR to the middle of the map where the Slot is and then trading Bhaflau Card to it? Or is that door locked?
doesnt rule it out, but kills the idea of it...Originally Posted by wunjo_on_ramuh
maybe aoe group kill ? I dunno
A ranger or thf getting a ranged slot for Acid Bolts would be able to dispel Cocoon (if no dispeller has magic at the time) and crawler mobs are normally cake otherwise. I'll convince my LS to go east next time, but I haven't logged on all afternoon so dunno what they've been up to >.>Originally Posted by Lordwafik
Oh, I had filters set. I'll pay more attention next time, but I did see plenty of WS being used. Is there a good parser that can keep the log but doesn't use Windower?Originally Posted by NynJa
Do you know how many mobs you let it spawn ??Originally Posted by wunjo_on_ramuh
About 35 Chigoe at least. They came in kind of like waves, but it was more like this: "RR readies reinforcements" then some Chigoe would pop out, but never more than five would be out at any one time.Originally Posted by NynJa
Edited: I looked at a few SS and revised the number upward.
You can't exactly 'pull' RR. He doesn't move. I looked at the southwest door in RR's room but it looked closed. I didn't get close enough to try to open it though. I'll see what we can do with it if we go back there next time.Originally Posted by Rancid
If you go east, please be sure that everyone has at least a stack of each: silent oil and prism powders. Especially the silent oil to get passed the status-cell dropping, time-wasting erucas.Originally Posted by Eaglestrike
Just defeated Long-Bowed Chariot, Looking over SS log now. Will post what I find in a bit.
He dropped: Bodb's Robe and Ea's Dastanas.
I have posted the source material for this summary in my LJ here: Salvage - Bhaflau Remnants - LBC Defeated. This link contains a lot of detail that I didn't put into this post.
1. On 1st Floor, used West Route.
2. Farmed Bifrons first for weapons and then wamouracampa for armor slots.
3. Pulled Trolls for weapons and HP
4. Pulled wandering wamoura for magic and JAs.
5. Returned to wamouracampas for more armor slots.
We did not attempt mad bomber or any other NMs on this floor.
6. On 2nd Floor, pulled all four flans.
7. Went East to scorpions and the troll ironworker (I think we went south east, but I can't be sure -edited 12/27)
We did not attempt any NMs on this floor.
** Please note this before porting up: (added 12/27)
8. On 3rd Floor, invised to the big room at H9 with Black Pudding. Killed them all for more magic, HP, weapon, and max MP cells.Originally Posted by Gwynplaine

9. On 4th Floor, buffed and chilled while one person went to activate the teleporter.
We did not attempt anything on this floor.
10. LBC Floor.

# LBC Fight
PLD to his left, NIN to his right.
BRD and SAM only come close when they need to.
RNG is behind them standing on the platform.
Everyone else is standing near the Gilded Doors.
1. Stun works against Homing Missile. Have rotation set up like at Cerberus.
2. Try to save those r/e/t items like dusty and those stat drinks for LBC. They come in handy since they don't have any med effect.
3. I think everyone had max HP, body, hands, legs, feet, and weapon (even the mages). Magic-users and NINs all had Magic, max MP. Melees/Tanks had sub job and JAs.
SAM average melee hit was 53.
RNG ranged attacks average around 60-80 and critical up to 120.
PLD and NIN melee attacks were negligable (averaged around 15-25).
