Lunar: Dragon Song (Anyone see this?)

    http://img384.imageshack.us/img384/5...gonsongfu2.jpg

Was looking around and stuff and saw the catgirl on the cover and was wondering if it was a game worth looking into. I liked the remakes and I liked turn-based battle systems and stuff, but has anyone played it or could give me recommendations? Thanks! :D

Edit: Link if anyone else was interested http://ds.ign.com/objects/722/722763.html

From all the people I know that have played it, they think its garbage, even compared to previous lunars.

Yeah Lunar 1 and Lunar: Silver Star Story were pimp, but I loved RPGs like that. I didn't know about the DS one.. should give it a look.

I loved Silver Star Story and Eternal Blue, but I've heard bad bad things about this game so I have not picked it up. Most reviews, even the ones from people who were also Lunar fans, said it was trash.

Another game that follows a similar trend seems to be Children of Mana. :/ It's so not Secret of Mana part 2. There's no travel, weak story, just basically a hack and slash thing that I might not even consider a dungeon crawler. I had looked at the Lunar game too and heard it was a let down so didn't pick up that one, but maybe it's a trend in DS sequels? Idk.

A quick query at http://www.gamerankings.com brought up some interesting facts about the game:

-You can't target which enemy you want to attack, you just hit the attack button and hope for the best.

-Running through dungeons lowers your HP. Not due to poisonous marshes, barriers (Was playing emulator DQ3), or any other sort of terrain, but just 'running'

-Character movement is painfully slow. We're talking trying to *walk* from point a to point b in FF terms

Seems like a pass to me.

That seems reason enough for me.

The series is good. This doesn't deserve the name "Lunar".

Find an old copy of the GBA Lunar instead. You'll get much more play value out of it.

    Seriously.

First time a game penalise you for running!

The best part of this game is the box it came in.

Well in the original Secret of Mana for SNES, if you "ran" using B instead of just walking, you couldn't attack for about 2 seconds after you stopped. That sort of counts as penalizing you. And of course in FF4 and probably some other stuff, you lose some money for running from a fight, but that's not really what you meant.

Oh, and in some wargames they penalize you for moving troops around, which is sort of similar.

Ah! I've got it! In Breath of Fire 5 Dragon Quarter, your dragon guage increases continuously by like .01% for every 20 steps you take or something, and when it gets to 100% you lose. That definately counts (even though it really doesn't matter because the game is pretty short, and it's easy to get through it without using dragon form much).
