For as much as I miss Calvin and Hobbes, I am glad that he had the integrity to stop while it was awesome instead of totally whoring it out for anything and everything- crappy cartoon, theme park rides, sugar cereal, condensed soup, live action & CGI movie, adult diapers, Barbie doll, car race video game, so on and so forth.

It is nice to see one fond childhood memory not ruined.

Yeah that's pretty true. I get tired of seeing all those "Calvin urinating on [insert something I don't like here]" car stickers, though.

They aren't. And I too miss C&H. ;_; Seeing that fake comic where Hobbes wants to play with Calvin, but he's too busy doing homework and the last panel Hobbes is just a stuffed animal... So sad. So sad.

I bought that even though I have all the other collections. Calvin and Hobbes is my favorite comic of all time. I usually reread the comics every year or so, ages so well.

There is absolutely zero official Calvin and Hobbes merchandise. In one of the trades, Bill Watterson wrote that he did not want anything besides a comic. No cartoon, no giving voice to hobbes, clarifiying if he is real or not. He was upset at the bumper stickers and other goods that used his work.

Whenever I see those I always want to get a second Calvin sticker to put up. It would be the same Calvin facing the first one, but no piss. And it would say "watersports."

And no, I don't think any of those stickers were official, just cheap vinyl runs random people did to make some money.

I can't remember the rest but it was a good one.

Oh, and Family Circus actually did make me chuckle, *ONCE*. It was back in high school, it had something to do with Halloween.

I wish that cartoon would die. But in a poll last year made by my main local newspaper it was #8 on the popularity index, which made me really sad. Better or Worse was #1, Dilbert was #20 and the only good comic in the whole list. Yea, I hate Indy.

Foxtrot also. But Bill Amend went Sunday-only at the start of the year

Other than that, the LA Times comics page is largely trash.

Family Circus should serve only as the Mad Libs of subversive subtitlers.

Just take the picture, whiteout the caption, insert something funny. It's all the comic is good for, but it is good for that.
