I gave up on FFVII PC version, too many random crashes and bugs. I wasted many, many hours trying to redo stuff, find patches, search forums for fixes. Don't bother with it. Get a PSX emulator.

Or if your in the UK... Go visit your local CEX.

    Playstation w/ Controller £12.00
    Memory Card £2.00
    FFVII £2.50

    Sorted.

PC version sounds a LOT better with a kickass soundfont. Also more challenging without savestates.

To OP: Did you install the DirectShow filter when you installed FF7?

Yea, I did. I installed the XP patch to some of you were referring to, but then it would say "Insert Disc" before I even loaded the program.

    *sigh*...

So now I'm downloading the FFVI Rom, to be played by my epsxe emulator. I've configured the PeteGL Video stuff or whatever as mentioned by GS in a previous post, but now I have another problem.

I've downloaded thus far CD1 (of 3), and unrar'ed it into a seperate folder (FFVII-PSX on my Desktop). I go to epsxe and click "File --> Open ISO" and open the FFVII.img file (one of three files in the folder). Once I do that, however, two menus pop up:

(gpuPeteOpenGL2) Missing Render texture extension! --- only option here is "OK"

    then:

(PeteOpenGL2) No Pixel format available! --- all you can do is press OK,

then epsxe shuts down with the whole "Send Error Report/Don't Send" crap...

can i get some more help =\ ?
