Hisagi's zanpaktou consists of only one entity where as Shunsui and Ukitake are insinuated to have two.

Aye, and as far as i know, the sickly fella only has 1 Sword when its not released, when in shikai, it becomes the two attached swords. He's the only one, besides Ichigo now, with two Blades when not released.

Though, his Bankai is apparently has a friendly-fire thing to it, as he was told not to release it where others could see during the Fake Karu town arc.

I didn't really read that as a "friendly fire" component, but rather a "don't let everyone know your super awesome secret" thing. Since knowing someone's bankai/special move gives you information in how to mitigate it. It doesn't really make that much sense, because not using it in the Aizen fight is kind of a "what the fuck are you saving it for" moment, but it's still how I read it.

Maybe he went willingly because he thought that he would get new information, maybe stop some plotting, etc. But Bach basically called his bluff and said "Welcome to the family". It was spelled out pretty plainly he cannot do anything with the whole VR watching his every move. It could become a divisive plot device for them to work out later on.
What Urahara is plotting is more interesting cause when he gets desperate he is unafraid to overstep boundaries to achieve his goals. Mayuri is going to have some surprise as well. Maybe he Frankensteined himself a new ability down in the lab...

Ishida could probably run with this. He now knows they're watching, now's the time to show off; if he's got the potential Bach says he does (and wasn't just blowing smoke up his ass), he could flex a bit and get some of the others thinking about following strength rather than loyalty, causing some dissension.

I'm not exactly seeing the connection, but if I want to make a quick guess at the second, it may be the Quincy equivalent of a Garganta or what the Shinigami use (the japanese doors stuff) to move between realms.
