I bet the radio station did not thought of the aftermath of trying to restrain pee.
its not restraining pee
its water intoxication
First of all, I believe this was already posted here somewhere.
Secondly, people are stupid. Her dumb spoiled kids could've waited a little more.

Can't get more freak than that.
This type of contest is actually done a lot.Originally Posted by Miltani

In another case at some time a weight loss company tried to market drinking excess water as a specific weight loss plan. Needless to say, it didn't work out when some people started getting sick and/or dying.
thats one of my local radio stations lol
It is just weird because of all the possible ways to die.. drinking water isn't one that is in the forefront of my mind.
There is a yogi technique where you drink water until what you poop out is the same color as what you drink in. I wonder if that dangerous? You're supposed to do specific exercises to loosen your various bowel muscles to allow the water to pass quickly in that technique so I don't imagine much of it actually gets into your system.
I'm not sure those 3 kids will like their Wii >_>
holy shit i was listening to that radio station when they were doing that competition too...wow didnt kno one of the ppl got killed >.<
Yea, I'm in the Sacramento area too, heard about this on Saturday. I remember listening to the radio on my way to work to this woman saying her oldest son was going to be so disappointed with her.
Sucks.
I'm kind of surprised to find out that isn't common knowledge...I heard about water poisoning long long ago, thought everyone knew that one.
Did she win?
No she didn't.
Also, as I was driving to work to morning there was an annoucement by the station manager. The morning show that held the contest will now be off the air indefinitely.
Well I guess its for the best? idk radio stations are retarded. One day you are listening to a morning show thats been going on for 5+ years and the next day they are gone without a warning. <3 Atom & Maria (Houston)
We have fucking Ryan Seacrest here... I can't even stand listening to the radio anymore.
Call me crazy, but I think the water was the real culprit here, not the Wii.
Unless you count the radio show, or the woman ignoring her bodily fuctions. I feel bad for her though.
The guests did sign a waiver for the contest, but that doesn't mean that the station or its radio hosts won't be considered responsible for her death.
The contestants started out only drinking small half-pint bottles of water, but the radio show increased the water bottle size about halfway into the contest.
It was a dumb contest to begin with, they should've made it simple... like a pie eating contest or some shit.
