Computer people please help me >.>

Ok so when i re-got ffxi i installed only CoP and Zilart in thinking that a level 1 job wont get to urgan any time soon. Soon after my computer started tripping out and a friend told me to go to Start>Run> (type in msconfig)> and then uncheck everything. This COMPELTELY screwed me then i rechecked everything. So now, about 2-3 weeks later, im trying to install Aht Urghan and it says: "The windows installer service could not be accessed. This can occur if you are running windows in safe mode or if the windows installer is not correctly installed. Contact your suport personal for assistance". I never installed this or put windows in safe mode so i dont know... can somebody help me out? THis message comes up when i try and install aht urgahn btw, it comes up right away when i click on the setup. Also since the "run" thing i did, my sound no longer works at all. Can someone offer me some help please i have no idea how to fix all this im sure their a univeral thing i can do to fix all of it- i hope. Thanks agaiN!
