ENM drop rate - affected by TH?

I've been duo/trio'ing "Shell we dance?" for a shot at the Blau for my thf with a few friends, we're currently 0/8. We usually bring 3x blm, but we can do it with 2x blm ok with a slightly slower kill speed but with a decent margin of safety.

I've been thinking lately that we might be better served having one blm come thf with th3 just to sit in the BC, or have our ghetto 60's rdm 2 box come as a 45+ thf instead.

What has me thinking is that in all the times we've done this BC, we have yet to really see a weapon drop - no stone splitter, 1 frenzy fife, no blau dolche. Makes me think the BC always drops a few synth materials, chance of song drop, chance of weapon drop. Bringing a thf might give us a better opportunity of getting a weapon into the loot pool.

Anyone that duo/trio ENMs bring along a 2boxed thf just for TH and notice better results? Or just placebo?

I would guess placebo, but if you can do it with a THF you might as well give it a try for a few weeks.

(But most people agree that TH doesn't affect the contents of crates.)

Don't have a huge data population to support the claim, but I say placebo. We're like 3/8 on Blaus from Shell we Dance, and we never ever have THF mains or even THF subs.

We're going to go ahead and give it a try for a few runs, see if there is any marked difference in the drop pools or not.

It's kinda nice not wanting to do the BC for loot, we just want the damn dagger and then we're done with it.

Yar we're pretty lucky A THF friend in another LS went something close to 0/15, and ended up buying it for 20M or something back in the days of high inflation.

For two of the drops, we took in 8-10 people. Fun event for the social LS where we just grabbed anyone who wanted free exp and was willing to trek up the mountain. Last drop was done trio style, BLM RDM RDM.

I go in my enm static and they gave me the dagger because they're awesome people, we're 1/6 so far I think, got it on 2nd try with no thief, and THF for ENM is very placebo as I do thief it up a few times on other ENM (uleg bombs) and have a nice display of galateia / dragon bones to show for it.

As others said, TH seeming to have an effect is placebo... As far as I've seen TH has never had an effect on any treasure boxes, the drops from those don't seem to work that way. Only BCs it would work in would have to be ones like Bahamut where you're killing the BC mob for the drops and not opening a chest.

I bring my 2nd char THF to ENMs and have it open the box and still consistently get hosed with dragon bones and viridian urushi.

Last time I did brothers we got no drops .

The kicker was i forgot to switch to merits and only got 300xp for it too

My static is currently 1/15 on the blau in that ENM. Setup is 3BLM/THF/RDM/NIN. Lots of dragon bones since we do Requiem of Sin and the other two ENM75. We've gotten Y's Scythe and Z's Trident to drop though

Did Boneyard Gully last night and got a double maneater drop... no THF 2 axes and a galateia. Can't post proof until I'm home. Our thieves can rarely be persuaded to go so /shrug.

Been doing Holy Cow and Sheep in Antlion for awhile now with no luck.
