Salad wouldn't be too bad as mc. I mean, it's something that could work.
Boruto though makes no sense as a protagonist. It's manga nepotism!

We need a new series about metal lee learning to stop chocking up
Until I see a dynamic wheelchair entry from Gai, I abstain from this whole thing.
Hi.
I read all of Naruto/Shippuden along with all of you but never touched Boruto.
Should I do Boruto Anime or Manga?
Also, I was thinking about watching some of the later parts of Shippuden since I've only read it but am not sure if I should watch all of the end/madara shit or bounce around to specific fights/scenes.
I haven't read the manga, but Anime is OK, but lots of fillers
For the Naruto anime, towards the end they packed in a bunch of filler stuff, so if you can find a guide online that says which episodes are filler and which are actual canon, totally watch the anime. It's really well done, especially the last 5 episodes or so with the Naruto vs Sauce chapters, just beautifully animated. The stuff that's not full of filler and true to the manga in general is really well done for the most part.
As for Boruto... eh.. it's been okay so far I guess? The anime and manga sort of cover the same story but I think they're not doing the same stuff right now. It's kind of similar to DBS where the anime and manga are similar but have differences. And the manga isn't drawn by Kishimoto, and the new artist's style is really... meh >_>
I thought the manga art got way better after a few issues. Looks great now a days
Honestly, it's hard to say at the moment. The manga pretty much covers the Boruto movie with some slight alterations (the villain's final form) and continues its story from that point onward. The anime has started before the events of the movie and has introduced new characters and certain new plot points (Boruto's eye). It remains to be seen how they will tie everything together assuming the anime decides to integrate the movie/manga's storylines eventually.
I'd watch the Boruto movie just based on the fights alone. Naruto & Sasuke were a damn treat in that one.
This. So much this. That final fight with Naruto+Sauce vs the Baddie is pure fan service and eye candy. So many little techniques and moves that are throwbacks to the original series, a combined Uzumaki Combo+Lions Barrage too. So good
The rest of the movie is okay and the ending is par for the course as far as Naruto movies go, but as soon as those 2 brokages get serious shit gets really good.
New OP sucks
NECRO BUMP
For those who cares, this anime is officially in the movie part
They did the Chunin exam (longer because they wanted to show other Genin)
Boruto got caught for cheating after wining the finals (instead of against Shikadai)
And now they are in the other realm to save Naruto, but when Momoshiki absorb the fat guy, the transformation is different, so expect the anime to be different then the movie
God damn it took them long enough...they're laying the filler on thick.

The fight from the movie is amazing, but today's episode really gave it a run for its money. That was sick.
and yet boruto eye plot twist comes back, because how can boruto become stronger then Kurama itself!
bro, naruto ws giving momo the paws, shit was lit
I liked how in the movie they did the throw-back Lions+Uzumaki Barrage, and in the anime the throwback was the hidden giant shuriken that was actually Naruto all along that Naruto and the Sauce used waaaaay back when against Zabuza. Was pretty good. They re-used a LOT of clips from the movie in the anime too, probably saved a ton of budget lol
This was vastly superior to the movie in just about every way really. Designs were better, fight was better, storyboarding was way better. Really not a fan of the series as a whole but this was lit.
