It was kind of funny at first, but I agree, all this excess shit is getting ridiculous. First Madara has a wall full of Sharingan eyes, then the over 9000 paper bombs, now this. I mean it completely explains how he was going to plan to fight the United Shinobi forces in the first place, but at the moment it's way too forced and looking ridiculous. You wouldn't even need 100k Zetsu's if they all have the uncanny ability to not die easily like the current one. And this is also ignoring the fact that you have an undead Akatsuki who could wreak havoc and don't die easily if they are anything like Oro's use of the summoning. There isn't any need to have that many, after the paper bombs something like that loses its shock value when you put a big number infront of it. Being able to grow Zetsu's would have been enough of a shocker.

I'm not sure if anyone noticed this but the 100,000 zetsu's are only the white half. An if their just mindless soldiers then the zetsu copies are only meant to take on the average ninja that guard the villages.

Next weeks episode shows more of the chakra swords. Which could mean we see more samurai in the manga soon on the frontlines.

The huge number of Zetsu's is just to explain how Madara is going to actually wage war. I find it funny everyone is making fun of this when a few months ago everyone was like 'wtf how is madara going to wage war with like 6 people on his side?' They're not going to be that powerful. It'll just give us a few panels/chapters with weaker ninja fighting those things so we can focus on the few big ninja fights that'll be going on.

I am curious how wars in the world of Naruto are fought. What is the purpose of foot soldiers or drafted men when you have ninjas (and samurai?) with god-like powers? I didn't realize this was a problem until we saw just how many top tier ninjas they are in the world.

EDIT: I just remembered Sai exists while watching trailers for the new fighting game. The question is: does the author remember?

All of the Konoha 11 have been dropped for the most part. Sai was seen last time we saw the rest of the cast/Sakura and such too. He was the reason people were chasing Sasuke (Kiba and such) before the last Naruto/Sasuke humpoff.

Foot soldiers are there because god-like ninja using their god-like powers opens them up to losing to the other sides god-like ninja. As an example, Naruto only beat Pein because Pein destroyed Konoha. With all that chakra, Naruto would've lost (and of course if this wasn't the Naruto manga).

I want to see some of naruto's friends parents fight. We haven't seen much of them and what their capable of.

They're undoubtably weaker then what we've seen their children do. A few cases of this have already been seen. And even if some of them were stronger, theyd still sacrifice themselves for "the next generation" lul.
