I'm 99% sure you can. It's the level of the mob that matters, not whether it gives exp. Besieged mobs are high enough, as are Dynamis mobs, and Limbus mobs. Any of them should work.

I used one of mu trial weapons for a real long time in dynamis and dont think it counted towards the total. When i finally decided to finish it i though i would need like 50 points but it seemed like it took alot more than that. I obviously didnt keep track, just basing off of how long it seemed to take made me think that dynamis mobs dont count.

When I was doing Spear of Trials, I kept track of my points as I broke it. I got about 30 points in Besieged and it didn't break until about 330 total points by my count. I could be wrong, but that's enough for me to not bother using trial/KS weapons in Besieged.
