Unless it has changed, it's illegal to export a folded steel blade out of Japan. Some Chinese Smiths are getting to be very good (Although no where near as good as the traditional Japanese blades, which use a process that crystallizes the steel on the cutting edge, which creates the unique shape)

Most pre-made swords are garbage if you actually wanted to use them for cutting. Getting a sword made is usually the best way to go, be weary if they quote you less than six-months.

rurouni kenshin's a pretty common anime

he even plays ffxi and has amano.

Looks more like the Dragonslayer from Berserk (manga only, the anime doesn't get that far). Although I've only seen a little of Kenshin so I could be wrong.
