What happens when they answer with more complicated stuff and find out you're an imposter? JP shitlist/great dishonor.

Half of them are irrelevent and half of the irrelevent ones are time-based and probably shouldn't exist much longer.

But everyone knows pretending to be Japanese is a very serious part of endgame, wwwwwwww.

Also, about this line: Hajime ni, senshi ha teki wo chouhatsu shite, shiifu wa ninja no ushiro kara fuidama shite kudasai.

Can you tell me how to add "I am, however, leaving, since this party is going to suck" onto that line?

yea I know that's kind of a sucky strategy now but I get asked a lot how to convey it. I'm fixing ha->wa and adding in a (jobs can be edited to match party makeup)

Seriously? O_o I had filters on, so I thought you were just being a lazy ass. Dynamis skillup is one thing, but skillup in Dynamis-Qufim... >.> But if that's really the case, sorry if I gave you grief, man.

k, this is kinda a noob question, but I can't figure out how to get japanese text support on my comp. I think awhile ago when I went to a site with japanese text something popped up asking if I wanted to install japanese text support, and I hit decline and it never pops up anymore.

Only way I've found through googling requires going into control panel and installing files off your windows XP disk, which I don't have, so anyone know any place I can download it or something?

    phrases such as:

    外人ので、申し間違えたら、おっしゃってください。
    gaijin node, moushimachigaetara, osshyatte kudasai.

"because I am a foreigner, if a make (speak) a mistake, please help/forgive me.

will help you out a lot if you have a fear of being called out as a fake jpn etc. They actually like people that can attempt to communicate, it gets you out of the NAnothanks club.

Whenever you ask for something you use a suffix 下す (ku-da-su).
it will always appear as ~ください or 下さい。(ku-da-sa-i)

It is how you use "please", however there is phrase that has greater impact and that is ~頂けませんでしょうか。 (i-ta-da-ke-ma-se-n-de-shou-ka)

it's a polite formality that goes a long way with the japanese and should be used when you really want something.

This is very good, but I find that when the person replies to you in Japanese you dont have any idea what they are saying. Then it becomes useless and they hate you even more for being deceitful

Re: Encyclopedia of FFXI Japanese Terminology

For those trying to learn I figured I would add this. I made this the other day for myself but figured you guys could use it as well. This should help break the JP "Code".

edit: Fixed U and grammar issues.

    Edit2:

Just for the sake of it:

A sounds like the ah in father.
I sounds like e in machine.
U sounds like the u in truth
E sounds like a in pray
    O is normal.
