God of War II

Anyone play this yet? Yay? Nay? Someone convince me to buy it. I never played the first one because it looked like a dumbed down DMC button smasher, and I was never really hyped about it anyway. But this one looks kinda cool, but still looks like it's missing something.

I read reviews and saw a few gameplay trialers and it still looks meh, and im bored and need a new game. I was thinking about getting Lego Star Wars II.

The first GoW was great fun, imo, although kind of easy. The real challenge is God difficulty.

I won't buy into the hype until I actually hear some positive feedback from people who have played it, rather than those morons on Gamespot or IGN.

And do you need to play the first to play the 2nd? or are the stories different.

my good friend is a designer on the game and he said its good but hes biased.

I was in a focus group for number one and thought it was like DMC but worse but didn't play the final version (he should have given me a copy lol).

so FWIW he says its good but he worked on it, and I didn't like the first but I didn't play final version.

If you liked the first, get the second, you probably won't be disappointed.

I watched a trailer he sent me and I have to admit I thought it looked kewl too. All those crazy combos and shit

The first game was a lot of fun. It was a lot of button mashing, but they brought out a lot of different boss fights and enemies. So you had to improvise a lot.

I got it, its really good so far. It plays pretty much exactly like the 1st one, only better. Everything have been buffed up, graphics, game play, length(i havent finished it yet, but thats what they claim.)

Dont get into the hype, i still like ninja gaiden and DMC(1 and 3) more. But dont get me wrong, this is the best game i have played in a while. Go get it .

GoW was a great game. For me it was the bosses - overall they weren't that hard but they were definitely some epic fights, and presented really well. Defeating the Hydra by impaling its head on the mast of a ship... awesome.

Fun game, in the same family as DMC, like everyone has said, but just really a different setting. I picked up GoW2 today, definitely gonna pop it in later tonight. Haven't finished the first yet, but it is obvious what happens and now why he is rebelling again.. though I don't understand the whole premise of:

"The end begins"

Maybe I need to finish the first to fully understand that.

Also, this one is supposed to have much more boss fights.

Was about to pick it up, but I saw that my local EB had Zone of the Enders 2 and a brand new copy of Ikaruga for $19.99, and I couldn't give that up..

I can get GoW II any time that shit will always be on shelves.

Just the general play experience, it just feels like it could have used some polish. It's difficult to put my finger on it though

I like it but, to me its the splinter cell of metal gear solid. And to add to that it feels like i'm playing a game made specificaly for retarded stereotypical guy figures who can't follow a complex story line for fear of getting seizures.

But i still like it for its awesome fighting :/

action games are for the action, not the story anyway so your second sentence makes no sense. if you want a complex story go for a genre that accommodates that.

anyway, great game, although I'm quite too particular about some things.
