There was a post back on BG when the huge discussion about AV came out and one of the GM's had stated that one of the posts on their was either extremely close or even dead on for the way to kill AV. Since the ninja-edit by SE it seems that most shells, including our own (LimitBreak) have been reluctant to fight AV and retest all the original theories that we disregarded after the glitch was found. Theories include Weapons, Torques (We did try once while at the wall - pre-ninja-edit period), wyverns, defeating wyverns in a different style or location relative to AV. I highly doubt re-popping any of the jailers does anything to AV since you can't pop JoL while AV is up.
Gonna Rehash some of the stuff just for reference:
Jailer of Fortitude
Uses Invincible
Can't be attacked with magic till ball partners are dead
Reflects magic
Now Fortitude is often associated with courage. Seeing the actions of the Jailer (being able to take no damage) doesn't make the jailer courages but rather fearful.
Jailer of Prudence
Uses Perfect Dodge
Spawns in pairs and does alot of crazy shit.
Prudence is associated with wisdom, the opposite of recklessness or thoughtlessness. Anyone that has fought prudence can say that it is a rather reckless fight.
Jailer of Temperance
Uses Meikyo Shisui - almost unlimited TP
Can Not be attacked by magic at all
Can only be attacked by 1 weapon form (blunt, stab, slash) at any given time.
Temperance is often associated with restraint. With Meikyo Shisui JoT actually has no restraint on his attacks. In fact he can only be beat with restraint (no Magic and confined to 1 melee attack type)
Jailer of Justice
Uses Charm
Spawns pets to Mijin Gakure (terrorist bomber)
Justice is often associated with fairness and equality. The fact that JoJ summons others to blow up as well as charm those that are most opposed to it seems rather unjust.
Jailer of Faith
Uses Manafont (Wizard based magic)
Uses Only EARTH based magic.
Faith is often associated with a belief in a higher being or a heaven of some sort. It seems rather ironic and intentional that JoF uses only EARTH based spells to emphasize that it has no belief in the heavens.
Jailer of Hope
Uses Mighty Strikes (War based 2 hour)
Each melee hit causes stun, preventing defense or attacking
Hope is often associated with the desire to achieve something greater than themselves. The opposite is despair which JoH uses with its combination of Mighty Strikes and stunning.
Jailer of Love
Uses Astral Flow
Summons 3 pets
Can use all elemental based magic
Uses Charm
Love is often associated with Charity or selflessness. Charity is friendship, benevolence, generosity. Love is the opposite of Wrath and hate. JoL's abilities shows just that, absolute wrath and destruction.
Now where does this get us and what sort of conclusions can be drawn if any.
Each Jailer can drop a Virtue Weapon, a Virtue Torque and a Virtue (excluding JoL). The sin defeated gives the virtue but does it lock the sin into the virtue? i.e is the 1st virtue of Temperance is actually the sin and not the Virtue. Thus when AV pops he actually contains 7 sins and not 7 virtues.
I tried looking at AV's abilities:
Meteor (Prudence?)
Comet (Hope?)
Wind (heavenly) spells (Faith?)
All 2 hours (Temperance?)
Auto Regen (Fortitude ?)
Summon Wyvern (Justice?)
Medusa Javelin (Love?)
Not sure though, the things might not correlate at all due to the limitations of game mechanics.
What we do know is that SE didn't intend for the AV to be locked by killing the wynav or at least not everything locked. They probably did intend for the weapons and torques to be used. The problem is now we are used to it locking 3 things and not 7 possible things. We were able to lock Magic, WS and 2 hours. What if we were supposed to lock 7 abilities?
My proposal is that each ability has its corresponding virtue to the sin. That in order to lock the ability we need as many people with the opposing torque and/or weapon in the alliance, not just 1 person. Then you have to systematically lock each ability by overwhelming AV with 1 virtue. So in theory having so many people with just Temperance torque and/or weapon should stop his ability to spam 2 hours.
I do not know however if this has been tried by any of those that fought AV. I know at any given time people have tried using all 7 torques at the same time and weapons but not stacking up on one specific Virtue. Also it's probably alot like the CoP Dynamis Areas such that not all abilities must be locked in order for it to be manageable.
