A long time ago when my highest job was around 45 or so, I was just bidding all my gil on stuff on the AH and happened to walk off with a 32k sniper's ring when they were way up there.

Only time i had some good thing happens to me on AH was at EU release when i started the game. Didnt even know about AH so sold stuff to npc/droped beastman seal of my inventory and others things like that.
So this friend /tell me to follow and he explains me how AH was working.
Didnt really understand everything he said and thought it was a normal auction selling, with higher bidder win the prize.

And i see this marvellous "Legionnaire Harness [5]" (zomg +fire!!! lol >.<. So i bid 10 gils and win.
Thought it was normal at the moment, and didnt understood why i couldnt get gloves/feet/beret with the same way. When i seen 'price history', all became clear, and i was happy to run away with a 10K armor when i had like 300gil to my name

Back when I was a poor lowbie, I had put 2 Wild onions in a bazaar for 666,666 gil (inside joke kinda) with the person who gave them to me. An rmt checked me and ended up buying them both, so I could buy staves for my 50 blm. xD (No SS's 'cause I started on ps2 ; ; )

i use to do that all the time when they capped the ammount you could send. Sell an item that no one ever buys back and forth for stupid ammounts to transfer gil back and forth quickly. That could be it... doubt it, but it could be possible. I would have given that back if it were that fubar.
