While I can understand the moderation of a minor's access to explicit content and minors even being depicted in said content, fuck all you haters if all future anime/manga women are flat-chested and wear nothing but mumus for fear of offending the sensibilities of someone who thinks looking sexy immediately translates to having sex.

It's not even a ban. It just charges companies that continue to release content that falls under their definitions. I agree the definition is too broad, it'll depend on how it's applied. However, companies will be less likely to release complete crap that has no plot line and just focuses on strange sexual situations between a 29 year old guy and a 11 year old cat girl (I made up the example but I'd put money down that there's a manga like that). If companies don't want to pay the fine they can still release the same stuff they have for years, they just won't be able to market it to under 18's.

Less variety? Have you checked the next season? There islike 25 loli anime out of 28. The current situation is pretty much the opposite of variety.

Anything that force writter to change can only be better.

What exactly got banned anyway? As far as i know at minimum schoolgirl outfits are no longer allowed in anime.
There might be some interesting anime coming out while all the studios are forced to create plots without it being about high schools at least.

Oh good, a ban would be too harsh I think but fines will help steer the companies away from it. Although, they could just charge more to account for the fines and nothing would change lol.

I loved this week's Bakuman, I like miyoshi's character and the way she interacts with takagi. Star Driver was still good and you can kind of see how the 3rd phase will look for the enemy cybodies. (if they get that far?) I've been putting off index, I can't bring myself to watch it for some reason.

    EDIT:

Exactly. It feels like new animes are no longer about plot, it's how can we create fictitious scenarios where it would be ok to molest women followed by 23 more episodes of pantie shots and people falling on top of each other. Do we really need 18 shows like that for ever 1 decent new anime?

Then again...I'd really hate it if SHAFT canned the new season of Maria+Holic because of this...

If there's no more maria holic then people need to die. It is now one of my dreams in life to use a girl in a maid outfit as an air guitar even if it's probably quite impossible to actually do. It just looks fun.

A little late, but I actually enjoyed Katanagatari's ending.

    Spoiler: show
Togame dying was pretty sad, but having memorable deaths like that usually makes certain series have more of a lasting impression for me.

Shichika's fights were fantastic, watching him destroy every single sword so easily showing off how powerful he really is was just great.

May have not had the ending I, or others, had hoped for, but I still greatly enjoyed the series as a whole and will be recommending to friends/others in the future.

Yeah the One Piece/Naruto/Bleach of the world wont be affected.

The wording in the Law is so vague - it's intended to stop the sale of 18+ content to minors but they can take it much further than that.
Actually One Piece, Naruto and Bleach can be effect since as you said it's vague. I can see Full Metal alchemist, Durarara, Berserk, Star Driver, Kara no Kyoukai etc in the list as well.

I don't mind Sexual content, hell I'm a guy like everyone else but even I have limits, I mean seriously how can they air shows like Yosuga no Sora?

The summary alone made me go WTF(I have no problem if you love this show or it's content).
    EP11
The protagonist lays down his twin sister at the front entrance of their home, they start smangin like crazy while talking about how awesome the sex is, and their classmates visiting to return a cellphone the protagonist left behind, sees the sister orgasm (in full detail, I would link a screencap but it would probably be considered porn). The episode also had a separate sex scene and a blowjob prior to that, shown in quite a bit of detail with his twin sister.

Where can I find the info on this new law/bill? o_o

I looked for info on the new bill and it looks like everyone is flipping out over nothing... I doubt much will change at all...

Hahahah @ Yosuga no Sora 11

    Spoiler: show
Getting caught fucking your sister must be one of the worst "OH SHIT" feelings in the world

[edit] Also I wouldn't consider 'naked boobs' as 'quite a bit of detail'. There was quite a bit more detail in pretty much every other girl's sex scene, and even that wasn't like, a ton...

Probably not a real sister, but an adoptive one. Japan always has such a way to make thing "right".

"No problem here, she is a 200 years old vampire that look like a 6 years old"
"It's okay, she is a robot"
    ...etc.

Yeah, never really understand the logic behind not just crossing that line when the whole storyline revolves around it.

I remember reading the omake of Marmalade Boy on how the author was going for that, but the editor was bitching to her how it was a horrible ending and she ended have having to just redo the entire ending to make it the standard "no, you're not really related" shit.

Personally? I'm with Genshiken's Sasahara on the whole genre thrives and probably built by people who don't actually have little sisters as far as the whole imouto genre goes.

Yeah, that's such a damn cop-out (though I don't think it's true in Yosuga's case), although there are some that don't use it (Koi Kaze for one, which is realistically about incest), even the recent Otome Youkai Zakuro seems to have some
    Spoiler: show
in the case of Zakuro's half-brother who is trying to bang her for some odd reason
, but incest has always been a less 'taboo' topic in Japan than America simply because America has no history of incestual rule unlike Japan/Europe which were quite open about it, keeping the bloodlines pure and stuff. It's ancient history, but it still happened (samurai homosexuality also comes to mind for something like this which is more generally accepted in Japan than America, with a lot of anime/manga dealing with overt homosexuality between men, especially in samurai stories).

Personally I enjoy wincest in anime (only between siblings), but it happens a lot for something that is supposedly 'taboo', I guess taboo excites people though, which is its main selling point. Honestly it's the only reason I'm even watching Yosuga no Sora since the whole story is about Haru banging chicks, and got old about 2 eps in. Though admittedly, the characters are pretty well-written and believable for a story that is almost nothing but sex and shallow relationships, so it's not hard to watch, just kind of repetitive. I wished for it in Oreimo but Kirino is such a huge bitch I don't care anymore lol.

Pretty much this. I used to watch 5-6 shows per season of anime. Now I'm down to 1-3 per year. I honestly think that characters with Triple G's are annoying. And pantie shots for the sake of pantie shots are also pretty damn obnoxious.

What really gets me about the Triple G boobs is when there's ONE char who has them in an otherwise-semi-realistic show (such as Zakuro). As far as shows that epitomize that style of boobage, I can simply avoid them, but if it's one or two chars in a show about Japanese people and they have GIANT UNREALISTIC BREASTS it just makes me angry...
