The reasons I need one:
I'm going to school in August. I need a laptop that's pretty lightweight and easy to carry around. I just need it for school stuff - no games or anything like that. Some room to carry music on it would be sweet but other than that, just school stuff - Microsoft office, wireless, etc.
What I already have:
Now I already have a Dell Inspiron E1505, with a nice video card, plenty of hard drive space, big screen. This is my home computer - and why I don't really need a new laptop Problem is it is a big, heavy computer. It is only one year old - which means it's kinda greedy to buy a new laptop - but considering the fact I am taking out 60k a year in student loans, what's an extra grand or two, really?
What's important to me:
I'm hoping to keep it cheap - because I am paying for it in the end - and I hope to do that by keeping it bare bones. But I do understand that lightweight systems are $$$$. I am more considered about the actually largeness of the system (height, length) than weight, though I don't want it to be heavy either.
So to sum it up:
Size needs to be small
Weight needs to be light
Extra Hard drive space = optional
Price needs to be cheap
No need for anything other than something that can access wireless internet, run school applications.
Any suggestions?
