    Apoc Nigh Earrings

So I've had AN done for a while now but never finished and got my earring. I have no idea which to pick, as my current jobs have no real need for them. so which, if any, is the safest choice then? the Suppanomimi of the AN earrings?

Ethereal is generally the "Suppa" for any job that might be getting hit regularly.

The rest are all specific things that hardcores of specific jobs might want, like a solo happy Rdm might want the Hollow, as would some Thf's, I think career Blm's like the conserve mp one, etc.

No, career BLMs like the Static.

Ethereal is the "can't get this stat on anything else in the game" earring. It is the irreplaceable one.

The hollow is the RDM one, but if I'm solo on RDM I'm wearing suppa/brutal.

The Static is what 2% on magic burst?

Magnetic has conserve MP but not a huge amount.

I'd like to say it depends what job you play, but we all know career blms who got Abyssal 2 years ago and are now playing NIN also. If you have no need for any, don't rush, and wait it out.

Ethereal is an absolute godly item if you play Pld. I'm sure it's good for most damage taking casters though.

Ethereal also has a nice mix of att, eva, and hp as well as being godly for pld.

Ethereal = PLD and anything else that uses regular MP and takes damage on any battle.

    Hollow = wtfpointless

Static = +5% damage on a magic burst... not 2

Magnetic = Ok earring for mages who worry about MP consumption a lot but don't MB (RDM/WHM/ETC)

    lolno.

People laugh at Hollow, but isn't it good for a THF WS build? That's what my career THF friend said anyway. Not saying it would worth anything aside from a career THF or RDM, but it's not entirely worthless. Like a Beastly Earring or something.

For a THF, if you're looking for acc/dex you could always use Minuet or Pixie.

Hollow isn't a bad earring it's got pretty good stats on it. It's an earring you take knowing that it has limited uses but is useful for it's purpose.

which is more or less what most of these earrings are like, good for somethings, pointless for others. You pick what you want. Best advice I ever gave a friend was pick the earring you think will be most fun for you.

    Note: I took magnetic btw

As a career BLM I'm thinking about Etheral. I beat this around a week after it was released and I still didn't pick an earring. Conserve MP one seems retarded, MB bonus is dumb since I have Novio.

As a Red Mage, if I take enough damage to make the Ethereal Earring worth wearing, someone is doing something wrong. (Tank if a mob/HNM is hitting me, stunners if they aren't stopping spells, me if I am taking consistent damage whole soloing.) It is easy for a RDM to hit the Stoneskin cap of 350 HP for 29 MP. If I took 350 points of damage, I would gain back 10 MP from Ethereal Earring, but it would cost 88 MP to use Cure IV to gain back about 380-ish HP to make up for the 29 MP stoneskin. (Yay! I'm in the hole 78 MP!)

Ethereal is great for jobs that get hit all the time and use MP, but any people that can cast a decent stoneskin is better off using it if they know damage is coming their way. It is hardly the Suppanomimi of the group.

I took Ethereal for Nin/Drk, Rdm/whatever, Blm, and whatever other jobs that I might take damage on. I thought about it a good long time though.

You have to remember that the Ethereal transfers all forms of damage into mp, including magical. On both Nin/Drk and Rdm/whatever this can be very very handy (though admittedly minimal of course), because there will be time when you take a decent chunk of magical damage and heck, if you are going to take the damage anyways why not get a bit of mp back?

The eva and attack on the same earring is also nice when I am Rdm soloing with Joy/Genbu/Damage reduc gear/ice spikes, since double attack doesn't stack with Joytoy. (Brutal/Suppa with Joy/Justice though... nothing like breaking your attack animation on Rdm... lol)

Though I started Blm main long long ago, I've always taken the item with the unique stats, and it's never dissapointed me.

If you're one of those loldrg's, Etheral Earring gives you back more mp than you use(with wyrm armet and AF+1 pants). It's also not bad for the 5 attack, 5 evasion and 15 hp.

Because Magnetic Earring makes up 225 levels of string skill?

Really? Because Nursemaid's Harp seems to be a fairly handy thing to have for Horde Lullaby. But that might be my more than three instruments talking.

    hi!

I've just stopped by to say that you seem to have something large and misshapen lodged dangerously far up your anus. Might want to have a doctor look at that.

I got tired of getting a higher resist rate on xp mobs with the harp and just use mary's horn for horde. String's resist rate is god damn frustrating sometimes.
