FFXIclopedia's Sange page says:
Was just wondering if anyone had tested this? Doesn't seem to make sense that ammo DMG doesn't matter.Damage of equipped ammo does matter.

Not sure why the Wiki would even display a message like that.
Seems to cause more confusion than otherwise.
You'd think it'd be self-explanatory.
Sange is Barrage for NIN. And the damage is calculated the same way.
You get an extra shuriken spent for each shadow, and they disappear after the next shot.
I merited it thinking it was an instant claim ranged attack itself [like Shadowbind, or EES] but it's not, You hit it, you see the Barrage animation except blue instead of green, and your next RA strips shadows, and tosses one for each.
It's worth it for the time. I wouldn't throw shuriken normally but if I can toss 4 at once, It's worth it. Using cheap Juji's I can toss a good 300-400 damage Sange.
i think max you can toss is 5. 1 for every shadow +1... ive always counted and am about 99% sure of this.Originally Posted by cassiraa
