    Odin Sphere

Of course I had only heard of this game through Penny Arcade, but after looking at a lot of screens/videos, I am wanting it more and more. The animation and voice acting are amazing. Has anyone else bought/played this that has anything good/bad to say about it? I have been yearning for a new solid 2-D action/rpg game since SoTN how many years ago...

Just looking at it now. its made by Atlus and my past experiences with that company have been great. Games such as Lufia have always been great, so I have high hopes for this one aswell.

awesome, looks great and atlus hardly ever let me down.

I hope there are valkyries in this >_>

edit: oh right, anyone ever play princess crown? this game is pretty much the "spiritual sucessor" to that game. much like how Ico and SoTC can be related together.

    Re: Odin Sphere

I got this for the gf the other day cause it was cutesy, but damn, it's kinda hard >_> Anyways, the trick is to level your character by eating food and absorbing the photons or w/e. At the later levels try not to eat the fruits you grow, instead take them to the restaurant or cafe so they lady bunny can cook the meals. That way you'll level way faster and survive longer <_< We've been using this Cooking Guide.

The other Odin Sphere topic was deleted.

Friendly advice. Get your Psypher level to at least 35 (preferably 40+) and make sure you have at least 1k HP. Make LOTS of pain killers, unlimited powers and elixers (3/4 each to be safe).

You'll thank me when you get to the final book.

    Re: Odin Sphere

I wouldn't really call it an RPG, but yeah, its pretty awesome.

I'm currently stuck on fight 2 of the Armageddon book, on Hard. I'm going to have to go back and seriously level up all my characters. Although 35 Psypher and around 500 HP each is way more than enough for the 5 stories on Hard, it just doesn't cut it in Armageddon

    Re: Odin Sphere

yeah, fight 2 is annoying. everytime he digs his head in the ground damaging him becomes a pain

Well, a friend of mine wanted the game too, but apparently most game dealers are selling out (at least the ones we visited). Or who knows, maybe Atlus didn't make many of them. I guess it depends on where you live. But definitely get the game!

It is the Atlus rule of games: Anything you want they make 5 copies per city, and 200 for those you don't.

    Re: Odin Sphere

I will admit to not being a huge fan of the 45+ second loading times on the pooka shops.

But overall the game is fairly decent so far.

    Enjoying it I suppose.

I have HDloader and have it installed on my ps2 hdd. The loading screens are like 2 seconds long.

Neat, pity my PS2 with the harddrive got demolished by airport security that one time.

Otherwise this would have been a pretty nifty solution.

I was about to say the same thing. I didn't even notice the loading times, then again I'm using HDloader 7.0e "What can I get you todayy." Gf loves the whole cooking aspect of it, of course, I'm the mule farming the goods, and growing chickens like a neanderthal ._.

    Re: Odin Sphere

Anyone going to give Grim Grimoire a try? I think is from the same developer. If it's 30 bucks I'll buy for the gf, since she digs Odin Sphere. However, I think Grim is turn based/strategy type ;o
