Confirmed, no XP loss in Limbus, apparently it's considered a 'CoP Battlefield' and the update affected it.

I dunno about anybody else, but I think that's pretty sweet, combined with the new 30k fee.

yea, I put it in advanced, ultima/omega is an endgame activity. Relocate if necessary.

EDIT: I didn't lose any XP in limbus, I died, got Raised, and was still at capped XP. Perhaps my situation was an isoalted glitch.

At least when you exp, you can also make CP/IS, so losing exp in normal areas is fine.
Failure should always hurt.

First it was dropping the xp required to reach 75, then they make the Raise spell more substantial, now we dont lose xp in limbus? I wish they would consider the fact that most of the people who play FFXI do so because of the challenge. If I wanted to play some kid shit i'd go buy WoW.

It's totally is to promote Limbus, as per the Grand CoP-Expansion Annoyance. The exp system has changed alot after they deleted 180,000 exp from the 1-75 exp total, and much like that, they (SE) are simply listening to thier fanbase (finally).

Limbus no longer holds any challenge in any zone, but it's damn annoying to *know* that you'll die alot going into an Ultima fight before you actually begin. No XP loss makes Ultima fight that much more bearable to take the random deaths you'll be given.

Not that I'm against losing exp... but saying getting rid of exp loss in Limbus is turning the game into WoW is a dumb thing to say. What turns the game into "WoW", and by that, I actually mean easy, is this trend of zerging the shit out of everything being the best way to kill stuff, be it HNM or exp monsters. If you are upset about the game becoming less "FFXI"-like, you should be having a heart attack over the fact Skillchains aren't used much anymore by many people.

On some fights it's absolutely unavoidable and someone will get shitstomped, and yes, the byproduct of EXP loss meaning that people have to be in charge of their own staying up (and it is a motivation to keep RR on as opposed to begging for an inopportune r1) does add to the concept of difficulty in this game.

Don't see how anyone can consider this anything but brilliant, fact is that no exp loss in Limbus doesn't make, say Ultima, any easier it just makes it a little less annoying.

Seriously, I would be very surprised to learn that most of the end game players here don't actually cap exp at 75 and direct switch to merit mode meaning exp loss actually matters anyway.
