    FINAL FANTASY XI Update (Jun. 12)

    At the following time, we performed a version update of FINAL FANTASY XI.

    * This update consists of a version upgrade of the client program. When you press the play button after the time stated below, the version upgrade will begin automatically. Please follow the instructions on the screen.

    [Important Update Details]
    - The Mercenary Rank "Second Lieutenant" has been introduced. Along with this update, several new items can now be purchased using Imperial Standing.

    - 5 new Assault missions for Second Lieutenant have been added.

    - Einherjar Wing III and beyond have been introduced.

    Following issues have been addressed:

    - Immediately following Level 8 Besieged against beastmen force with 200 enemy forces, the status of enemy stronghold was displayed as "Preparing." Now it will be displayed as "Training" with 99 enemy forces.
    * This applies to enemy strongholds that complete the Besieged battle after the version update.

    - There were instances where the character may become stuck during the Assault mission "Evade and Escape," when the monster uses Draw In on the character.

    - There were instances where the Einherjar area could not be exited if disconnection occurred during participation.

    - The amount of damage inflicted by the weapon skill "Catastrophe" decreased, and the attack was not draining target's HP.

    - When a level restriction was applied after setting Blue Magic, Blue Magic Points and maximum number of set spells remained the same as before level restriction was applied.

    - There were instances where Corsair's ability "Loaded Deck" would miss even though there were two abilities waiting on recast.

    - MP drain effect of following items were not functioning properly:
    Lilith's Rod
    Leech Scimitar

    - The "Provoke" effect from the automaton attachment Strobe was weakened.

    - Target could not be locked on when sub-target was used.

    - If your system is set to "12 hour time", the Vana'diel time was displaying 10 minutes fast in event messages.

    - Part of the manual sort function for Magic, Abilities, Items, etc. remained as "interchange" instead of "insert."

    - An NPC named "e" appeared on the Wide Scan in Wajaom Woodlands.

    - Certain area names were abbreviated when using the auto-translate function.

    After the Mar. 8, 2007 version update, Lock of Siren's Hair had been removed from the treasure dropped by the certain Notorious Monsters, but Novv the Whitehearted was not included in the list of monsters.

    Thought we'd have to wait another year for them to release all of Einherjar, beat 1/3 on first wing.. gotta get to wing 3!

    I was expecting this to take a long time as well, at least a month. xD Woot! Perdu Blade here I come! Good to see they were so quick about fixing all the little bugs they'd introduced.

    Wonder how many got to capitalize on that sweet little glitch before today.

    But honestly, waiting a month for the new rank and what not wouldn't have been a bad thing. It would be something to look forward to.

    Nope but can expect for most people to get past wing 1 in the next passing week. I'm not sure how many groups are capable enough to win thus far. Both of the times I went to do Einherjar, I got to see a dying group load out-- which of course, is always hilarious.

    I think it was a new glitch after the update, since I just noticed it while doing BCNM40 the other day, and never before. Basically you could set a bunch of extra spells after the cutoff point, and as long as they were low enough level to be used in said level cap, they would remain after you zoned in.

    Ahhhhh... it will be nice to level into Perdu Blade!

    Too bad I'm going on vacation in two days and won't be 73 by then.

    Oh my fucking god, the dialog tables for the rank up quest are fucking massive >_> Well over 500 lines of dialogue that I've found so far (and we get a drill sergeant!)

    Edit: from what I can discern it looks like 6 parts to the rankup (though that might include the initial crap with naja and the ending crap, might be less things to actually do), one of them is trivia

    Edit2: for anyone with the latest POLUtils it starts at 8436 or so

    I'm surprised they finished Einherjar so soon, I was expecting next update at the soonest. So much for the idea that the next half of Einherjar would include new abj. for all the other jobs. (Because all jobs should have a new mediocre or sub-par set of armor)
