Any opinions on "Ares Set" vs "Armada Set".

Which would you feel would be better off for end game DRKs? Or perhaps do you guys think a mixture of equipment would be far better?

If I had to choose a "Full set" and be forced to wear it all at once, I'd rather homam than either of them...

Otherwise this is just sort of a dumb question, why would you wear all 5 pieces of either unless the DA was well over 13%?

Ares Mask is the best head gear for att/acc build, for any HNMs, Turban fails in that kind of situations.
Ares Body is what was already told - ultimate Steel Cyclone gear.
Ares Hands - I disagree with crap thing, although it isn't as usefull as others parts. If someone can pull enough acc in gear, with a little help of BRDs, capped GA it's possible to use meat on some HNMs with that hands.
Ares Cuisses - a bit more str is always welcomed for WSes.
Ares Sollerets - best feet for att/acc build.

Armada Celata - I'm using Adaman Celata on my WAR GA setup and I can't complain
Armada Hauberk - nothing to comment
Armada Hands - I could use it instead of AF2 hands on WAR, but I'm too lazy to buy Cursed >.>
Armada Breeches - useless for both WARs and DRKs imo
Armada Sollerets - this is some kind of mistake, really... feet for lvl 30 melee -_-

It really depends on what you're doing and on what job that can even use those sets (apparently you want a war or drk opinion on this? lol)

I think Ares head, hands and feet would be ungodly useful for any HNM fight that is remotely evasive. In exp, macroing one of the pieces out on a thief mob (and possible nin mob) would have merit, but you can achieve this with O-hat anyway >.>

Of course, the set bonus with Ares is untested... due to the difficult and time consuming nature of completing a Salvage set, it might be better than expected. The Double Attack proc rate might make it interesting... of course, this coming from a DRK prospective (my delay, even with haste gear, is depressing... as well as usually having to sub nin if I merit ;.

Most of Adaman/Armada is pretty... clear cut.

For pure looks? I'd go with Ares.

tough if the set: enhances double attack is more then 10% or so I could see this set maybe become good also for axe/axe WAR in PTs. The Ares set seems to benefit 2 handed weapon wielders more

Yea i would agree on the double attack suited more towards dual wield. But no ones got an entire set, so percentage is still unknown lol.

I would think Double Attack (while actually being useful no matter what you're swinging) would be a more visible boon with a 2h weapon.

Do 100 Attack rounds, count up the Double Swings, repeat a few times til you see a specific number pop up.

Pretty sure thats how they worked out War AF1 feet/Relic Legs/Base Trait.

A full haste war? probably not. But it would certainly help a DRK or DRG's numbers heavily I'm sure.

It's possible. When it came out I tried figuring out exactly how much DA would be needed to do the same damage as the Haste it would be replacing and turns out it wasn't terribly high...it was more than 10%, but nothing beyond the realm of possibility or anything. I don't remember exactly how much it was anymore though, so you'd have to do the numbers again to find out. If DA won in pure damage you'd still have to consider if having a slower utsu timer would be worth it (that might not be an issue under haste+double march, depending on the situation, though)
