Guttler for WAR?

I've been investigating relic weapons for awhile now and I'm wondering why SE decided to make Guttler (relic axe) BST only. Forgive me if this topic has been beaten to death somewhere in another thread - just point me in the right direction if that is the case and consider your help much appreciated.

Now I know that Ridill WARs are pretty much disgustingly broken as is but no more so than a Kraken DRK, Gjallarhorn BRD, or an Aegis PLD. In looking at the native axe skill, WAR and BST are identical at 75 - capping at 269. It's true that WAR is able to equip some of the very best gear in the game, however BST is able to equip all of the same gear (correct me if I'm wrong) - Heca, Ridill, Haidate, Dusk, etc - BST is able to use it all. Granted BST has a much lower sword skill than WAR - but I'd think BSTs other abilities would compensate for the differential in sword skill in term of something being imbalanced or broken.

I'm wondering if someone could shed some intelligent insight as to why SE chose to excluse WARs from using this relic. I already talked to Sundi about this and while he was unaware of the issue, he is going to investigate the matter. Thanks for your input.

Beastmaster was supposed to be the job using single-handed axes.

Not really game breaking... Kraken DRK would still do massively more damage. It would just make for good epeen rampages in xp. There is really no reason WAR shouldn't get guttler.

Triple damage doesn't work on WS. Only on normal hits and criticals.

Why can Blue Mages not equip Ridill? (BLUs can equip every other Falchion except for Seiryu's Sword.)

Maybe he was PLD before he became a DRK, har har har.

And Sept, your questions are actually harder to understand than why WAR can't wear Guttler. The game SE had in mind wasn't filled with people spamming WSes and using the shit out of Dual Wield and Utsusemi. They probably thought a WAR had to be crazy to use an Axe(unless they were tanking with Axe + Shield, lawl) over a Great Axe or Great Sword. Maybe they didn't do the math when they added the RoZ expansion. Maybe one day, they will start using foresight.
