College World Series

As BG's token Oregon State alum, I'm very excited about the collge world series, going so far as to follow the North Carolina - Louisville game on the scoretracker from NCAAsports.com, despite not caring a whit about either team.

Anyone else following this thing?

I'm not following it very closely, but if my fiancee ever gives up the television and a game is on, I've been watching. Some really brilliant playing those guys have been displaying.

Louisville was in a BCS bowl game, NCAA tournament, and the college world series. Hope they do decent. i don't follow their baseball team, but I heard they are overachieving underdogs.

They actually got knocked out of the tournament by North Carolina about an hour ago. UNC's pitching held their high powered offense to a first inning solo home run. 3-1 UNC.

Anteaters vs. Beavers tomorrow. It's the Atraditional Rodent Classic.

I live about 60 mins from Omaha and this time of year is the best. If you have never been to the CWS (but at least enjoy at one of: baseball, food, women, or beer), I highly suggest you make the trip one year.

It has always been a great event and as Nebraska has started to show well there, the attendance has skyrocketed. Even on years NU doesn't make it, it's a great time.

As BG's token UNC alum, I'd like to implore everyone here to cheer against OSU and for my Tar Heels today as we take on the highest remaining seed, Rice, at 2 PM EST.

Time to go to a bar and get rowdy for UNC! Here's to hoping for a national title rematch (of last year's final 2) with Oregon State.

Oh, well, then, how about we just phrase the game as: "Beavers-Eaters". Hard to beat that.

Sounds like most of the local Omaha contingent has adopted UCI as their team for the year, which makes it pretty much a home game for the Anteaters. Could be tough, but UCI has to beat OSU on two consecutive days after having played three of the last four. Their pitchers are going to be exhausted.

Of course, it can be done. Last team to win the series after losing their first game -- Oregon State, last year.

I'll be rooting for UNC today, as well, but I honestly don't care so much about who actually wins that series, I just want tired pitching arms. OSU knocked both of those teams out of the CWS last year, both will have revenge on their minds.
