Problem: Moving FFxi from PC to PC without install.

Posted this over at the windower forum, but not really getting a solution for it. :(

So I've been reading:

... to try and get my FFXI install working on another machine. But I'm having a few problems.

I followed every singal step very carfully. I used xcopy to copy all my files accross, exported/imported my registry key, registered all the DLLs using those batch file scripts that were posted. All seemed like it worked ok.
However when I start the game up via Windower or normal POL I get: "PlayOnline Viewer: Class not registered".

I tried both the script to register the DLLs and restarted, still have the same problem. I REALLY don't want to have to reinstall and spend a whole afternoon swapping CDs and doing the 213912321hr update.
Any help would be much appriciated!

I'm running as Admin...

I even ran the little 1 line bach script that's supposed to recurse through all the DLLs and register them all. So I don't see how one could have been missed. :(
What should I try?

Ok I solved the other problem I was having, however now when I try and start the game it says I have a beta copy installed...
I wish I had the all-in-one DVD but that didn't come out in the EU for ages so all I have is a ton of CDs.
What else do I need to do to get this working?

And no, I'm not really trying to install a Beta, this is from a paid for copy of the game from a real shop and everything!

copy and paste your POL folder to another drive, install ffxi roz cop and toau, copy and paste it over, go through filecheck and you dont have to download anything

Are you running Vista?

Using "regsvr32 /s", you won't get any feedback if there's errors. /s is silent mode. Assuming you are running Vista, you must not be running the command prompt as administrator. I forget the exact wording(as I never boot up vista anymore), but you need more than just an administrative account. Make a shortcut to command.com, right click and hit properties. Then you want to make sure you run it as administator, or something like that.

My other guess is the batch file must not be pointing to the right directory. Try it without /s and see if you get any error messages.

Could you possibly use something like Alcohol 120 to make an ISO of what you need and registry with it and mount using a virtual drive to install on the other PC? I'm thinking about doing this to my new PC or just dealing with the updates either way.
