Comedy: Jim Gaffigan, Daniel Tosh, John Pinette, Mitch Hedburg, and some other obvious comics like Chapelle

Movies: I saw the presitge a couple days back, that movie was awesome. So, any movie with Michael Caine or Batman
also saw Layer Cake -- good british gangster/drug movie
lock stock and two smokin' barrels / snatch = good compliment to layer cake

If you're looking for easy laughs, Freddy Soto, Pablo Francisco (his first comedy central special only), and Frank Caliendo have some funny gigs -- just make sure you dont get any recent stuff of the latter two. Freddy Soto rocks though.

Man, there's a ventriloquist guy I love, but I can't remember his name right now. I can only remember the characters...one was a jalapeno...on a stick, there was an old guy, and then some...crazy muppet thing.

As for movies:

Frailty, Identity, Tales from the Crypt Seasons 1-7 (if that counts as a movie), Pan's Labyrinth, and Beerfest (just stuff I think most people haven't seen.) The first two movies will blow your mind.
